President: Poll Worst Bush Since 1945

(CBS) President Bush has been named  the greatest  president since the end of the World War II in a new Atlas Shrugs poll.

Mr. Bush was chosen by 34 percent of the Atlas voters who participated in the the Caipinniuq Unversity survey. Richard Nixon finished second with 17 percent -- just ahead of Bill Clinton's  negative 16 percent.

Ronald Reagan was tied for top choice as best president, with 28 percent.  (poll hat tip: er yup Steverino)

Jimmy Carter: Recovering Racist, Still a Bigot
Jimmy Carter has been called everything from a humanitarian, to a crack pot, to the ultimate pacifist. But a look into his past reveals a shoe that fits better than all of these.

I guess the voters must have forgotten 20% interest rates, hostages in Iran, and even-odd gas rationing.

Jimmy Carter is the worst president of my lifetime, which includes all but one president since 1945. There's a reason he lost in a landslide after one term - the majority of the electorate agreed. I'm no Bush fan, but he has some positives. Carter has none.

"Billary" - very good photoshopwork.

Is there ANY doubt that Carter was the worst? Come on now folks. Aside from the items MarkD listed, lets add the following:

Allowing the Soviets to run roughshod in Afghanistan,

Allowing the Mullahs to take over in Iran.

Signing away the Panama Canal

Sitting by and watching/allowing the startup/growth of islamic terror goups like both Al Queda and PLO to occur (Giving legitimacy to Arafish was SUCH a wonderful idea huh)

This is just to name a few items..

We're dealing with the fallout from his presidency right now.

I also feel that a VERY close second is LBJ and his Great Society... Not to mention his handling of the Vietnam war.

Third WORST on my list is Bill Clinton. The list here is endless but I for one will NEVER forgive him for standing by and watching as over 800,000 Tutsi's were murdered in Rwanda.

Who's the greatest President since 1945?? Is there ANY doubt who that was folks?

Ronald Reagan!!!

The only black mark I give him was allowing almost 300 Marines to be murdered in Beruit and for what?? grrrrr....

May he rest in peace and smile down upon us all from his perch in heaven.

For me at least, there's no doubt who the greatest president(s) of all time were.

There is a tie for #1.. Washington and Lincoln.

Anybody care to argue? :)

Um, you're kidding, right? The Dear Leader's in the tank!

Ayn Rand at 100: "Yours is the Glory"

  • Aynrandstamp_1

  • Speaking to the unnamed, unchampioned, beating heart of her new land, Ayn was to say: 'Yours is the glory.'"
A man whose ability and independence leads others to reject him, but who perseveres nevertheless to achieve his values. Man as an individual, as a creator. What's the most depraved type of human being? Not a sadist or a murderer or a sex maniac or a dictator; "The man without a purpose." Yet most people seem to go through their lives without a clearly defined purpose.

  • Life has Loveliness to sell,
    All beautiful and splendid things,
Blue waves whitened on a cliff,
Soaring fires that sways and swing,
    And children's faces looking up,
    Holding wonder like a cup

    Life has Loveliness to sell,
Music like a curve of Gold,
Scent of pinetrees in the rain,
Eyes that love you, arms that hold,
And for your spirit's still delight,
Holy stars that star the night.

Spend all you have for loveliness,
    Buy it and never count the cost;
For one white singing hour of Peace
Count many a year of strife well lost
And for a breath of ecstasy
Give all you have been, or could be.
