Some part of me hopes negotiations will work with Iran and a war of any sort can be avoided.

The rational part of me knows this is simply more stalling -- Iran has no intent on stopping its uranium enrichment program and is fully determined to have nuclear weapons.

Iran has lived without "special" trade concessions since at least the 70s -- to think these rabid Islamists will be deterred from their evil designs for cheaper Twinkies is as naive as Chamberlain was over 60 years ago.

The Iranian mullahs meant it years ago when they claimed, quite publicly, that Israel would cease to exist the day Iran had the means to effect that -- and they mean it now. However, you can expect Iran to give all appearances of negotiating because every wasted word is one step closer to their real goal.

But, regardless, I hope I am wrong and negotiations lead to the desired result.

Neville, I have an idea. Why don't we hide in our basements and bomb shelters and such and after they are tired of conquering us, they will go home and leave us to come out and take a breath of fresh air. Okay, so they'll steal everything, but we can live without all of our posessions and freedoms, can't we ? I think the PM beheading could actually have happened...
