Ahmadinejad has vowed, “To stop Christianity in this country” [i.e., Iran] here and his recent “letter” to President Bush emulates the jihad war precept (originally formulated by the Muslim prophet Muhammad) of calling infidel powers—often Christian powers—to accept Islam, prior to initiating a jihad war against them. hat tip Andrew.
Make no mistake, this is not about Joooooooos. This is against all non Muslims and non practicing Muslims. The yellow badge is back.
A yellow badge, also referred to as a Jewish badge, is
a mandatory mark or a piece of cloth of specific geometric shape, worn
on the outer garment in order to distinguish a Jew. Jews in Germany were forced to wear these yellow badges.
The color yellow had been maligned since feudal times. Horses that were yellowish were considered worthless throughout society (as seen in the obsolete phrase, to curry Fauvel, a conventional name of a yellow horse). All other colors were used by knights on their shields, so yellow was left to brand the Jews.
Human rights groups are raising alarms over a new law passed by the Iranian parliament that would require the country's Jews and Christians to wear coloured badges to identify them and other religious minorities as non-Muslims.
"
Iranian expatriates living in Canada yesterday confirmed reports that the Iranian parliament, called the Islamic Majlis, passed a law this week setting a dress code for all Iranians, requiring them to wear almost identical "standard Islamic garments."
The law, which must still be approved by Iran's "Supreme Guide" Ali Khamenehi before being put into effect, also establishes special insignia to be worn by non-Muslims.
Iran's roughly 25,000 Jews would have to sew a yellow strip of cloth on the front of their clothes, while Christians would wear red badges and Zoroastrians would be forced to wear blue cloth.hat tip Jay
The Simon Wiesenthal Centre has written to Kofi Annan, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, protesting the Iranian law and calling on the international community to bring pressure on Iran to drop the measure.
Sorry, the only think I expect Kofi Annan to do is turn on the ovens - or in this case, help Iran secure the A bomb.
Bostom wrote of this back in July "The Ayatollahs’ Final Solution?" Read it
Just for knowing, this is not new to Islam. Going back to the year 717.........
- 717 Caliph Omar II orders both Jews and Christians to wear a distinguishing mark. [1]
- 807 Persia Abbassid Caliph Harun al-Rashid orders Jews to wear yellow belt, blue for Christians.
- 853 Caliph Al-Mutavallil of Persia issues a yellow badge edict.
- 1005 Fatimid Caliph Al-Hakim orders Jews of Egypt and the Land of Israel to wear bells on their garments and "golden calf" (made of wood) around the neck. In 1301, they were obliged to wear yellow turbans.
- 1121 A letter from Baghdad describes decrees regulating Jewish clothes: "two yellow badges, one on the headgear and one on the neck. Furthermore, each Jew must hang round his neck a piece of lead with the word dhimmi on it. He also has to wear a belt round his waist. The women have to wear one red and one black shoe and have a small bell on their necks or shoes." (Paul Johnson, A History of the Jews, p.204)
UPDATE: And if I may issue a stern warning for these Jew haters. They are coming for you too. You too will wear a badge!
The Presbyterians are calling upon their allies.
A main focus of the conference was encouraging "divestment" (which was also called "morally responsible investment") campaigns against Israel. Speakers stressed that it was "now more important than ever" for Western sympathizers to move from mere pro-Palestinian pronouncements to such concrete action. Ateek enthused that movements for Israel divestment were afoot in the Episcopal Church, the United Methodist Church, the United Church of Christ (UCC), a couple Roman Catholic religious orders, the United Church of Canada, the Methodist Church of Great Britain, and the WCC. He reported that after the 2004 General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) adopted its controversial resolution to divest from selected companies doing business in Israel, Sabeel sent an appeal to other Western church leaders encouraging them to take similar action. However, Ateek admitted to being greatly worried that churches would back away from divestment under pressure from opponents, as the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) was already "under great attack" for its divestment measure.
Who is really under attack here fellas? huh?
UPDATE: Bruce says "Laugh at me all you want, but I keep a bag of jewels and dual-nationality passports for my wife and children to help them if they ever need to and can escape a pogrom here in the United States. I grew up among many, far too few, who managed to escape from Europe in the ‘30’s and ‘40’s, through perseverance, cunning, and luck. Very few survived due to Allied intervention or rescue."
I am not laughing Bruce, I am not laughing.
UPDATE: Iranian expatriates insist that the "National Uniform Law" authorized by the Iranian parliament a few days ago, which is aimed at getting “Western” style clothing off the streets and advancing more traditional “Islamic” attire, also includes a clause obligating Iranian Jews to wear a yellow ribbon.
Despite a report in a Canadian newpaper that the badge story may not be accurate I will not retract it. Because it is the objective of Iran, the objective of Islam to convert all non Muslims to Islam or die (or live as dhimmis.)
Ahmadinejad's has made numerous declarations to wipe Israel off the map" and to "stop Christianity in his country." So why split hairs here?

This should be a wake up call to any Jew or Christian that is left in Iran. (I would hope they would of gotten the hell out of dodge by now) If you haven't left yet, run like hell.
Combine this with "Stinky's" letter to the Pope... sounds like Islam is about to Jihad America and the Catholics.
Anyone else paranoid yet?

I would assume this "badge" is only a "strip of cloth" because they didn't want to see (and probably don't even allow) people walking around with Stars of David or crosses (I have no idea what symbol, if any, Zoroastrians have).

SHOCKA! SHOCKA! SHOCKA!
Hey Super Babe I'm linking to this story too!
I say put the LL and the MSM in front of the line at the ovens if they don't see a need to send out the alarm to the world on this latest manesfestation of Evil on the Mad Mullahs' drawing board.
I updated my post when linking to your site:
What's next - fire up the ovens?

I wonder what color athiests will wear? (Oh, dead people don't need a color.)
I think Bruce's comments are right on target.

The next step will be when we hear CNN reporting the Iranian government providing non-Muslims with free or low cost housing, tho they won't mention the "Arbeit Macht Frei" signs since they won't know what that means.
Posted by: Jay | Friday, May 19, 2006 at 01:26 PM
Bruce and Atlas, I am not laughing at that either. I believe we will see massive oppression of Christians and Jews in America within our lifetime. I believe it will initially start over the refusal of many Christians and Jews to allow themselves to be tagged with GPS chips under their skin, for "security purposes."

In all fairness I thought I should add this. I'm not saying the Mad Mullahs don't have this on their plate.

Iran report of Holocaust-style badges questioned
2006-05-19 12:01:29
The National Post is sending shockwaves across the country this morning with a report that Iran's Parliament has passed a law requiring mandatory Holocaust style badges to identify Jews and Christians.
But independent reporter Meir Javedanfar, an Israeli Middle East expert who was born and raised in Tehran, says the report is false.
"It's absolutely factually incorrect," he told The New 940 Montreal.
"Nowhere in the law is there any talk of Jews and Christians having to wear different colours. I've checked it with sources both inside Iran and outside."
"The Iranian people would never stand for it. The Iranian government wouldn't be stupid enough to do it."
Political commentator and 940 Montreal host Beryl Waysman says the report is true, that the law was passed two years ago.
"Jews should wear yellow strips, Christians red strips, because according to the Iranian mullahs, if a Mulsim shakes hands with a non-Muslim he becomes unclean."
The National Post cites Iranian expatriots living in Canada as its primary source on the story.

The original story on Canada.com has apparently been pulled: the story is "no longer available." Which means that Matt Drudge has a dead link on the top of his site. Could it be that someone is interested in inciting war with Iran using defector stories and dubious intelligence? Hmmmm...

Woody Allen, at his best, couldn't have come up with the stuff they did in the year 1121 (or anytime for that matter).
Only this isn't a comedy. Unbeleivably in this real life Twilight Zone, the midget exists and WILL EXECUTE his war plan.
We must, WE MUST take the midget out, remove this anal tumor before it kills the body.
I do not want to wear any fucking sign that says "Kick Me" the rest of my life.

Super Babe
This story may only be partly true. I'm with you - false but accurate in terms of President "MAD's" twisted frame of reference :--)

Update III:
Kenneth Timmerman just posted these updates to his original post:
UPI reported from Tehran that the Majles passed the law this week."This law recalls the Holocaust immediately to mind when Jews were forced to wear distinctive yellow Stars of David on their clothes," said American Jewish Congress Executive Director Neil Goldstein.
[...]
Sam Kermanian, of the Iranian Jewish Federation in Los Angeles, urged Jewish activists to caution in a mass email today. "So far the two reports we managed to obtain from our own independent sources from inside the country suggest that the original reports are false," he wrote. "Both Mr. Morris Motamed the Jewish member of the Iranian Parliament and Mr Parviz Yeshaya the former head of the community have strongly denied the reports."
Stay tuned....
Note: Mr. Kermanian has acknowledged to FDI that he currently does business in Tehran, but says that he has received a "waiver" from the Treasury Department to sanction his commercial activities.

Dr. Zin is on this story and will updating shortly
RBT just got off the phone with Dr. Zin of Regime Change Iran who was about to board a plane to return home from DC. He said he will be posting further on this story when he gets back home.
Dr. Zin said he first learned of this in 2004. Dr. Zin' sources have said until recently this has been in the context of a discussion on an Islamic appropriate dress code. The last he heard was it was't in writing but was making it's way through the lower levels of what serves as the Irainian legislative process. [ed note: A stacked deck :--)]
Dr. Zin said the President Ahmadinejad is in support of this dress code. Dr. Zin doesn't know if there is enough agreement to pass and implement it.
Stay tuned as Kenneth Timmerman said . . .
