CBS News Berates the American People
So it is not enough that the mainstream media has become the propaganda tool for the Islamists and the enemies of America. Not satisfied with the results of their daily brain washing (or should I say brain clubbing) now they intend to shame the American people for having the courage of their convictions.
Over at CBS News, they want to know "Why So Little Protest On Iraq? (hat tip Steverino)
Why? Because we are at war you little shit you! Because we are fighting an enemy so insidious, so dangerous, so shadowy -- it will take the whole of the nation, all hearts and minds to defeat it.
To hear Dotty Lynch, who is rather dotty, tell it, she is confounded by our will to live.
They say, for example, that 400 of the 750 members of the Princeton class of 1956 joined the military, compared to only nine members of the class of 2004. Speaking on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," Rep. John Murtha pointed out that only 1 percent of the people in the United States are involved in the war and many of them go back over and over again.
Is that the reason for the lack of protest? Is it because so few Americans are personally impacted that the outcry isn't louder?
No, no it is because war has been declared on America and we are trying to preserve our way of life. We are all impacted. We want to live, dotty Dotty, a full life .... pursuing life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. But if it's a chador you are looking for, I am certain it can be arranged.
Where are the new Tom Haydens and Sam Browns and where are the Noam Chomskys, William Sloane Coffins and Daniel Berrigans?
Meeting with Hizbollah, asshat.
Murtha said Sunday that actions like the alleged massacre by the Marines in Haditha "erodes - this is the kind of war you have to win the hearts and minds of the people. We can't win this militarily.
Thanks for the vote of confidence Murtha. John Murtha is a My Lai-R. Another traitor whose name no one knew until he came out against America and became a media darling. He and Cindy Sheehan - the only mother America is familiar with on a first name basis that lost a child in Iraq - the only mother America knows. Why is that?
And why aren't our Marines given the benefit of the doubt until all the facts are out and the military releases its findings. What, only OJ gets that -- do not "rush to judgment" -- free pass?
Or is it that Americans have become desensitized to gruesome pictures of the dark side of soldiers in war? The atrocities at Abu Ghraib and Haditha have shocked people for a few days but the images of My Lai are still seared in our brains. Will the words Abu Ghraib and Haditha bring back horror in 30 years?
No, you loon, we've become sensitized to the gruesome images of beheadings of people merely because they are infidels, we have become sensitized to hundreds of our brethren throwing themselves out of tall buildings to escape the fires of an attack on our great nation, we have become sensitized by the tens (maybe hundreds) of thousands murdered at the hands of Islamic terrorists here.
Abu Ghraib, my ass. A couple of losers doing stupid things and you define our efforts in that context? Shame on you - go. Go live under shariah. Go on now.
Analyzing data from 91,000 interviews in fifty nations and the Palestinian Authority from 2002 to 2005, the authors conclude that "America's reputation was badly soiled in Iraq."
Palestinian data? WTF? You, my dear, are what is badly soiling this nation. You, my dear, are the embarrassment of our nation because your premises are false and you stand for nothing. You are nothing.
People at CBS News were touched personally and deeply by the Iraq war on Monday. But must it take a direct a hit for all Americans to get engaged and demand a serious re-examination from those in power whose policies have caused so much bloodshed and damaged America's reputation around the globe?
Hey dotty Dotty, every loss is huge, every death is enormous. We are all on the front lines now. Shut up and fight or get out of the way.
UPDATE: Profoundly disgusting. This could have been written by al qaeda.

Unbelievable barking moonbats. For me, even hearing the names Chomsky and Sheehan are painful and disgusting. Traitors all.
What is it with these people? I fear that even another 9/11 level attack, or greater, will NOT wake these people out of their slumber..
These peoples world view and knowledge of history can be contained on a very small post-it note...
I guarentee that they can name the lates 'American Idol' faster than they can even show you where Iraq is on a map.
Cluess, barking moonbats all...

The media is an advocacy group, and they are advocating for the enemies of a free civilization. The media has become our enemy. When the public finally figures this out, it might become safer on the streets of Baghdad for media representatives, than the streets of america.

Great post Atlas! Love the way you tell it like it is.
If it wasn't for Atlas Shrugs (and others) I would feel like Helen Keller, cut off from the world - you guys are my Ann Sullivan and allow me to hear and speak, the truth.
BZ!

Priceless! Dotty is beyond parody.
Unfortunately, her stupid and cowardly worldview has carried the day in the media, academia and popular culture.

The truth is these people hate our country. There is no waking up from that. Another attack on our soil would only allow the another opportunity to blame us for it. For Democrats, that would manifest in two ways:
1. Our war in Iraq made us vulnerable, which is another form of it's our fault;
2. The bush administration failed to "connect the dots...again."
There is no winning with Cluster B Personality Disorders, and all of the left has all of them in some form:
Borderline
Narcissistic
Anti-social
Histrionic
The main theme is entitlement. And, nag, nag, nag, nag.

Dear Dotty:
I'll try to answer your main rhetorical question:
<>
Where are the new Noam Chomskys and William Sloane Coffins? That is an issue that Paxil and the new generation of psychotropic medications may have to answer for.
As for all the confused, angry, misguided, and easily misled young people, don't you self-centered "feminists" remember that you aborted them all?

I know how badly all you True Partriots want to inform the authorities of this crime, so I will make your job easier, by giving you a
handy link you can use to alert them. Go on, don't delay! It will take no more effort than writing a blog post about these people you've conclusively identified as "traitors" to turn them into the proper authorities.
But hurry: every minute you sit on your hands and do nothing, is another minute they can use to further compound these crimes you've so cleverly identified. And, some would say your silence aids these crimes. So, be a Real Patriot: turn them in!

HarcH, yeah right. Can't even stand behind your rhetoric.
Posted by: cleek | Thursday, June 01, 2006 at 04:58 PM
Cheek,
Brilliant comeback. You are clearly a black-belt in rhetoric.
Posted by: MarcH | Thursday, June 01, 2006 at 05:11 PM
HarcH, don't be disingenuous. Definition #1 is the only one that fits the way the right uses the word.
First of all, definition #1 explicitly deals with a person's relationship to his country, while #2 doesn't even mention "country" - maybe you can show me a place where someone called Murtha a "traitor" outside the context of his relationship to the USA? "Murtha is a traitor to his softball team" ?
Secondly, if you guys are really using the 2nd definition when you say "traitor" how come we never hear any of those synonyms? Should they be likely to turn up once in a while? "Murtha is being a real two-timing cheater about Haditha" ?
Thirdly, why is it that people who are described by wingers as "traitors" are just as likely to be called "treasonous" ? I've never heard anyone on a winger blog call Murtha a "cheater" or a "double-dealer", but if I Google "Murtha Treason" and I get hundreds of thousands of hits.
Face it, right wing rhetoric uses "treason" and "traitor" interchangebly, and they are always using definition #1 - and that describes a crime. A crime nobody here has the time to bother reporting, I guess.

Cheek,
I was wondering when you were going to go to the standard troll tactic of calling a debating opponent "disingenuous". You managed one reply without this term.
#1 clearly refers to violations of law while #2 refers to violations of morality or social convention. How hard is that to grasp?
I'm signing off for the Jewish holiday of Shavot and the Sabbath. Perhaps another reader will be bored enough to play with you.
Posted by: MarcH | Thursday, June 01, 2006 at 07:09 PM
HarcH, how hard is this to grasp:
Insisting that the right's use of "traitor" (and "treason", let's be honest here) as applied to vocal critics of your beloved CoC, during wartime, must be interpreted with some rarely used secondary meaning that has nothing to do with "betraying your country" by "aiding and comforting the enemy" (another of the right's favorite phrases), is, in fact, disingenuous. It's an absurd request. Sorry if that word's enough to scare you away. Try to tough it out.
Yes, "traitor" does clearly refer to a violation of the law - and many of your less cagey compatriots openly call for his prosecution for it, or much much worse. So tell me, HarcH, do you think those people calling for him to be "hanged for sedition" are using this second meaning you're insiting on? Is there some special code that people on the right use when they mean the "violation of social convention" and not the criminal definition ? If so, kindly share - we're all dying to know WTF you guys are actually talking about.
