The Struggle Between Good and Evil

This story speaks for itself. The mainstream media will paint Israel in the most impossible, almost demonic light while tenderly, gingerly making love to killers and savages. But the following story really says it all;

On Thursday evening, an Israeli couple gave rides to three hitchhikers. One, disguised as a religious Jew, was a suicide bomber, who blew himself up in the car at the entrance to the community of Kedumim. Body parts were hurled dozens of feet. The car burned for an hour.

Unbowed, the International Herald Tribune cites a completely discredited, Jew hating study to prop up its antisemitic ravings here.

What is really at play here? A struggle as old as time. The struggle between good and evil. My dear, brilliant friend and soul mate, Dr. Helen, points to "the involvement in antisemitism involves probably every person through his/her family at one point or another.

What it represents is the struggle between good and evil. The traditional Jew-peaceful, studious, dedicated to procreation, family and life of worship and simplicity. He is concerned with being benevolent hence the Kosher way of killing animals-without suffering. He does not deviate from faith in God and belief that God, if he is good, will take care of him. On the other side is the trayf  - the more  likely to use physical force, have many wives, or at least does not stay with one family and may beget a few, less concern in procreation rather more concern in pleasure. Kills even for his faith or in the name of his faith. More physical than studious and much less faithful to family and religion.Inflicts pain without remorse and enjoys the disrespect for other living creatures.

Therefore for the strife between good and evil to continue and exist - the fundamental basis and core for this existence  the traditional Jew must survive. If he dies the good is gone and evil takes over the world. The struggle must continue as this is the setup and fabric of this world.

The conquering of Israel is in theory. That piece of beach holds no oil, gold, or any other valuable resources. It however, holds the Jewish people. The world knows that getting the land is meaningless, it is getting the Jew that will be the victory for the forces of evil. However, if the Jew dies they die too as their survival depends on this constant struggle because without it they will lose the meaning and purpose of their existence. And so it goes, a never ending struggle which is the very essence of life as we know it."

So just to summarise, all jews are good, all Muslims are evil, that's all anyone needs to know about the middle east conflict. Anyone who disagrees is an anti-semite.

Great to see a truely deep thinker at work. You dilliberately misscharachterize Pamela's position in order to ignore the 800 lb gorilla in front of your nose; but then again, in your world, what Mahoud al-Zahar actually said was, "I have a dream, free at last, free at last, I will lead my people to a peaceful land of milk and honey". The verbage he used was just a little too confusing to all us peons and less compassionate souls than you, eh Sonic?
Since the actual events of history are not allowed to intrude into your morally superior compassion, maybe what we need is a modern example of Islamic love, tolerance and enlightenment. France seems to have volunteered for the post of the next victim of Islamic conquest. I don't think we will have to wait too long, before we all get a practical demonstration of Islamic understanding in action. Maybe you will be kind enough to assist us in understanding the more nuanced aspects of Islamic cultural sensitivity...you know, the true meaning of the grinning face with a severed head held aloft, a sort of Islamic gold medal, and for bronze lets see, a severed hand or would a clitoris be better.
I must say Sonic, you relativists never cease to amaze me, but then again maybe it's just the space between your ears is such a vast expanse, it just takes more time for you to actually get anywhere

Wonderful post and yascher koach. You are at the intellectual bull’s-eye of GWOT.

It’s not that Jews are special or superior. They are not. They are merely an everlasting symbol of the introduction and intervention of a unique (for the ancient world) concept of God.

The Jews introduced ethical monotheism: a God whose foremost wish is that men act according to the Golden Rule and love the widow, the stranger, the orphan and their neighbor and a God who loves men and wants them to be holy (to rise above their animal natures and approach Him).

This concept is the basis of Western Civilization and of Christianity (especially in the version of Christianity which inspired the founders of the US [see Roots of American Order, below]) which has done the great work of spreading this concept to the world. The problem for the Jews in all this is that (as discussed in the Bible) their continued existence is testament to the existence of this God. They have therefore attracted the hate of the worst of mankind since throughout all generations. As Jews will recite this year at the Passover seder: “in every generation evil doers rise up against us to destroy us” (paraphrase from memory).

It all goes back to your masthead Pamela; the Jews are the canary in the coalmine of history. When the Jews come under heavy attack we know that there is a threat to the roots of our civilization.

One could write libraries on this topic and I don’t have the skill or the time.

No one thinks that the Jews are saints. I am still quite concerned over the question of Israel's involvement in 9/11, considering the very unusual goings on in New York involving Mossad agents that have been essentially whitewashed by both the media and our government. Our media cannot look at the Jews in an objective light.

That said, the justification of these sadistic acts performed by barbarians is sickening. It isn't a question of our position on Israel, it is a question of how we look at the Muslim. Their horrid acts of violence cannot be overlooked, and if we are to ever defeat terror we must understand the evil that terrorists represent.
