Easter Terror Attack on Egyptian Resort Town

simultaneous explosions in the tourist bazaar area of the Egyptian Sinai
resort town of Dahab on
Monday - part of a five-day spring holiday in Egypt. One of the bombs targeting a hotel there, one exploding in a large market and the third on a bridge.

There have been a string of attacks in Egypt's Sinai peninsula over 18 months. They included al-Qaeda-style bombings in the Egyptian resorts of Taba and Ras Shitan in October 2004, killing 34 people, and in Sharm el-Sheik in July 2005, killing 63.
Ha'aretz reports at least 22 dead, 150 injured. Reuters confirms.
UPDATE 4/24 @ 3:10pm: Reuters reports that Egyptian rescue officials now put the death toll at 30. The director of rescue services in South Sinai province put the number of wounded up to 160.

An AP update: "Southern Sinai Gov. Maj. Gen. Mohammed Hani put the death toll at 21, including 18 Egyptians. Hani said 62 were wounded while the police put the number at more than 150. The difference could not immediately be explained." Hat tip: Mike
