George McClellan was the General who came to mind in the last few days as the half dozen, half-hearted Generals came out of retirement to attack Don Rumsfeld. On more than one occassion I wanted to ask Gen Zinni if America could borrow his Army since he wasn't using it.
Where are our Grants and Shermans, Washingtons and Pattons, Custers and Geronimos? Don't we have anyone that can actually fight a war on the battlefield and the pressroom floor? Rumsfeld is one of the few, but where is the next Rumsfeld, the next Bolton?

Pamela, I nominate you for the position. If you're not available, I'm ready to go blonde with Monica Crowley. Don't know what to do if neither of you can make it. Gringoman? Even if my country called, Karl Rove is too smart to sig an Indochina-hand loose cannon of a certain age on the White House yuppie corps. The entertainment would be staggeringly impolitic and incorrect.
