So Iran is playing possum. Showing off this year's souped up, record breaking "Whale" - yawn. Sorry but I am unimpressed. If this was the level of war games, I would hardly notice. There is no doubt in my mind that the creative, brilliant, scientific, technological minds in the US and Israel would beat the living daylights out of the oppressive, morally and fiscally bankrupt regime of Iran with little to no effort.
It's the damn nukes in the hands of these savages that keeps me up at night. So yes the following would be good;
The Government is to hold secret talks with defence chiefs tomorrow to discuss possible military strikes against Iran.
A high-level meeting will take place in the Ministry of Defence at which senior defence chiefs and government officials will consider the consequences of an attack on Iran.
It is believed that an American-led attack, designed to destroy Iran's ability to develop a nuclear bomb, is "inevitable" if Teheran's leaders fail to comply with United Nations demands to freeze their uranium enrichment programme.
There are thought to be at least eight known sites within Iran involved in the production of nuclear materials, although it is generally accepted that there are many more secret installations.
Of course, all parties have denied that such a meeting took place. Uh yeah ...ok. wink
The question for me remains - why is Iran provoking the West to war? There is a very deliberate strategy in play here.

If I'm not mistaken a GBU 28 was tested not too long ago. The unofficial title is Bunker Buster. It's kinda like a large birthday present (maybe a little early). Maybe we could deliver a MOAB to Qom too. Just a thought. Kinda help them celebrate?

Why provoking could be as simple as their "president" is nuts. I've read that he is losing support even among hardline clerics for pushing this confrontation. It may also be that they already have resources in place for terrorist attacks and seek to justify the actions as retaliation. Of course that is just speculation on my part.

The great test of the Presidency of GWB will be whether he allows the Iranians to develop nuclear weapons.
It does not augur well that, after five years of Bush as C in C, the Iranians feel confident enough to reply to questions about their obvious WMD program with bald faced lies, host Holocaust denial festivals, flood Iraq with IEDs and advisors, and sponsor seminars on the theme of imagining a world without America.
I do think that GWB has been better than Kerry would have been, but that has not been sufficent on the Iranian front. At this rate the djinni will soon be out of the bottle.
Hopefully, those late night meetings at the Pentagon and UKMOD are not just for show.
GWB should have listened to Michael Ledeen in 2002.
