What anti-Islam? Are these people nuts? Oh puh-leeze. We are so onto you. Who gives a fig about Islam? Who even th0ught about Islam until they declared war on the West and started sawing off heads, bombing babies , kidnapping journalists and sawing off their heads, blowing up buildings, trains, while screaming about the coming caliphate. They should just STFU. Live and let live (or die).
France is dead, long live the era of the living dead. Blood suckers.
Naomi Ragen wrote me about Ilan Halimi long before reports appeared in the newspapers and the crime was acknowledged as one more Muslim atrocity against Jews.
Jewish friends in Paris whispered to her in horror at the sheer barbarism of the crime, in which an innocent young man was held for twenty days, found with all his fingers cut off, and burns and bruises over 80% of his body. Because he was a Jew.
The Jews and other decent French people have taken to the streets of Paris to finally, finally, openly protest Muslim anti Semitism and Nazi-like barbarism. But not a peep is heard here in Israel, even though the murderers were connected to a Palestinian terrorist organization. Because official Israel just doesn't want to acknowledge this has nothing to do with land, or occupation, or any of the other excuses we'd like so much to believe. It doesn't want to acknowledge that every Jew is now a target, and that Israel is the bull's eye.
Below, Caroline Glick, elaborates
Column One: Ilan Halimi and Israel Ilan Halimi's barbarous murder in France should awaken all Jews to the most significant truth of our times: Today, every Jew in the world is on the front lines of war.
As was the case 70 years ago, every Jew today is a target for our enemies, who shout from every soapbox and prove at every opportunity that their goal is the annihilation of the Jewish people. From 1933-1945, the enemy was Nazi Germany. Today, the enemy is political Islam. Its call for jihad aimed at annihilating the Jews and dominating the world is answered by millions of people throughout the world.
Among the lessons of the Holocaust, there is one that is almost never mentioned. That lesson is that it is possible, and indeed fairly easy to exterminate the Jews. The fact that the Holocaust happened proves that it is absolutely possible for the Jewish people to be wiped off the map - just as Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hamas leader Khaled Mashal promise.
The story of Ilan Halimi's murder at the hands of a terrorist gang of French Muslims brings to the surface the various pathologies now converging to make the prospect of annihilating all Jews seem possible to our enemies. First, there are the murderers who took such apparent pleasure and felt such pride in the fact that for 20 days they tortured their Jewish hostage to death.
This makes sense. Anti-Semitism in the Muslim dominated suburbs of Paris and other French cities is all-encompassing. As Nidra Poller related in Thursday's Wall Street Journal, "One of the most troubling aspects of this affair is the probable involvement of relatives and neighbors, beyond the immediate circle of the gang [of kidnappers], who were told about the Jewish hostage and dropped in to participate in the torture."
It appears that Ilan Halimi's murderers had some connection to Hamas. Tuesday, French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy said that police found propaganda published by the Palestinian Charity Committee or the CBSP at the home of one of the suspects. The European Jewish Press reported this week that Israel has alleged that the organization is a front group for Palestinian terrorists and that in August 2003 the US government froze the organization's US bank accounts, accusing it of links with Hamas.
Halimi's family alleges that throughout the 20 days of Ilan's captivity, the French police refused to take the anti-Semitic motivations of the kidnappers into account. The investigators insisted on viewing his kidnap as a garden variety kidnap-for-ransom criminal case, which they said generally involves no threat to the life of the captive. The police maintained their refusal to investigate the anti-Semitic motivations of the kidnappers in spite of the fact that in their e-mail and telephone communications with Ilan's family, his captors repeatedly referred to his Judaism, and on at least one occasion recited verses from the Koran while Ilan was heard screaming in agony in the background. The family alleges that if the police had been willing to acknowledge that Ilan was abducted because he was Jewish, they would have recognized that his life was in clear and immediate danger and acted with greater urgency.
Like the police, the French government waited an entire week after Ilan was found naked, with cuts and burns over 80 percent of his body by a train station in suburban Paris, before acknowledging the anti-Semitic nature of the crime. According to the press reports, the French government was at least partially motivated to suppress the issue of anti-Semitism by its fear of inflaming the passions of the French Muslims who make up between 10 to 13 percent of the French population and comprise a quarter of the population under 25 years old. And yet, now that the French government has acknowledged that the crime was motivated by hatred of Jews, it is behaving responsibly in pursuing the murderers and decrying the attack on French Jewry.
In addition to the exterminationist anti-Semitism of Ilan's murderers and the unwillingness of the French authorities to acknowledge the anti-Semitic nature of the crime until it was too late, there is one more aspect of the case that bears note. That is Israel's reaction to the atrocity. In short, there has been absolutely no official Israeli reaction to the abduction, torture and murder of a Jew in France by a predominantly Muslim terrorist gang that kidnapped, tortured and murdered him because he was a Jew.
No Israeli government minister, official or spokesman has
condemned his murder. No Israeli official has demanded that
the French authorities investigate why the police refused to
take anti-Semitism into account during Ilan's captivity. No
Israeli official flew to Paris to participate in Ilan's
funeral or any other memorial or demonstration in his
A report detailing Iran's uranium enrichment efforts and a secret project linked by U.S intelligence to a possible atomic weapons program will be issued Monday to the board of the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency, diplomats said.
The board already reported Iran to the U.N. Security Council, but the council is waiting for the report and the outcome of the meeting before taking any concrete action. The council has the power to impose economic and political sanctions on Iran.
The IAEA, a notoriously docile, toothless, animal is final admitting to an Iranian atomic weapons program. Rest assured it is far deeper, much further along and much more dangerous than described.
Much ado (about nothing) is being made of the "new and improved" Iran Russia deal;
Iran strikes deal with Russia on uranium enrichment project
IRAN has reached a basic agreement with Russia on a "joint venture" to enrich uranium, Iran's nuclear chief said yesterday, in a deal that could put an end to the growing international crisis over fears that Tehran wants to build atomic bombs.
This hardly ends my fears but serves to increase them. The world is looking for any way out. The world is begging to be conned. The slumbering masses want desperately not to have to deal with this.
Iran says it agrees basic nuclear deal with Russia
BUSHEHR, Iran (Reuters) - Iran has reached a "basic" agreement with Russia on jointly enriching uranium, officials said on Sunday -- but there was no immediate sign that it would suspend home-grown enrichment to allay fears that it is developing nuclear weapons.
Just for knowing, I am not buying any of it, not for a second. Everyone wants their fears assuaged but a "joint venture" between Russia and Iran is like a joint venture between Stalin and Hitler. No good can come of it.It reeks of the unholy alliance: Stalin's Pact With Hitler and I am sure Ahmadinejad will turn on Putin in much the same way Hitler turned on Stalin.
Everyone gets caught in the nuclear crossfire.........

Jerusalem (CNSNews.com) - Extremists are threatening to blow up the Palestinian Bible Society in the Gaza Strip if the people who work there do not close up shop and abandon their ministry by the end of February, a Christian source told Cybercast News Service.
The threat appears to be the work of Islamic extremists who are determined to drive Christians out of the area. Arab Christians are taking the threat very seriously, said a Palestinian Bible Society information officer who asked not to be named.
There are only about 1,500 Christians living among an estimated 1.2 million Palestinian Muslims in the Gaza Strip.
Eleven local Palestinians staff the center, which includes a Christian bookstore
that sells Bibles. Scriptures are displayed on large billboards, and at the
front of the store is a sign that says: "God's Word is Life for All." Above the
shop are computer rooms, multi-purpose halls and a library that is open to the
The trouble started three weeks ago, the source said, when a pipe bomb exploded around 11:00 one night outside the Bible Society, which is located in Gaza's city center. There were no injuries.
Two weeks later, an unknown group left threatening pamphlets at the front door of the Bible Society warning that the building would be blown up if the premises were not vacated by February 28.
The pamphlets threatened the landlord for dealing with "infidels."
Savages, barbarians, a pox on humanity.
Great stuff here from Murdoc Online;
In mid-December, I posted a photo [Atlas posted it as well] of a female US soldier with an Iraqi woman on Murdoc Online. I also posted it here at Winds under the title "Just two women changing the world". A few commenters at WoC and in other places acted predictably lame, and the soldier, PFC Janelle Zalkovsky, happened to notice and respond. I contacted her, and she agreed to do a little "email interview".
Here's a relevant excerpt from the Q & A, edited only slightly for readiblilty (All the words are there and no words have been added.):
3. How long have you been in Iraq?
Since September 17th, 2005. Basically four and a half months.
4. Now that you've been deployed to Iraq, do you feel differently about being in the military?
5. How so?....
....19. When you were on leave, did you spend any time looking at mainstream media coverage of Iraq?
No, not at all. Even here in Iraq we get CNN but we choose to turn it off.....
....23. How do you feel about your picture and name being "out there" for the whole world to see?
I don't really mind it at all. I want everyone to see a female out their doing the job well. I want them to see a different side of what the Army and what this war is really about. I know that there will be many different opinions about what my picture portrays to them, but all I can say about that is that they have no clue as to what is going on out here.
24. After I posted the photos on Murdoc Online and Winds of Change, a number of commenters said things like "yeah, but she can also kick down doors and arrest that woman" and "it's a feel-good picture of US girls handing out cosmetics and chatting about glamour" and comparing your humanitarian aid mission to a Tupperware party. Should we just go beat those commenters up?
No, because they are just uneducated.
24a. Scratch that last question. Question #24 was supposed to be "What's your response to people who say things like that about what you do?"
The media I believe is the one doing that and just the fact they are so closed minded. If they were out here maybe they would understand. To me it feels good to give to those women who don't have the same lifestyle we are given or the same luxuries. What some of the commenters said was to me just plain ignorant....

The bar mitzvah boy sang like a pro.......... I loved every minute, kvelled and cried (I am such a cornball) and afterwards I never stopped dancing of course.
My sisters and I - it is a rare and wonderful moment that all four of us are altogether at the same time, in the same place. Soooo great. The political, familial, mama, girl thang between us is remarkable. All hardworking, all accomplished - huge personalities. Ginormous. So fabulous they are.
Electrical outlets are the premium real estate in airport terminals when everyone is waiting on the damn airlines to get their act together. This is the outlet that is juicing my inspiron (battery drained). And I am being eyed enviously.
The distraction of the manufactured hoopla over the port nonsense, sorry but I really think it's a non issue here, this week's left-wing manufactured distraction (last week it was Cheney.) The real news, the meaningful events--the destructive actions go unnoticed. SHAME ON US!
We have to set the example. America. We have to mean what we say. We must speak and act from one morally unambiguous position. "Humanitarian" - ha! My least favorite euphemism - what do savages know about humanitarianism? It is extortion money. It funds murder, it pays for silence, it pays for votes. Hamas allegedly won because they provided welfare to their constituents? With whose money? No good can come from - no good. I am writing the President at email@example.com. You must do the same. Please. This is the worst kind of message America could sent to the Radical Islam.
The United States will continue sending humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people even after a Hamas government is formed, a senior U.S. envoy told Palestinian leaders during the first high-level meeting between the two sides since the Islamic militant group's election victory.
The U.S. continues "to be devoted to the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people and we shall remain so," State Department official David Welch said after the meeting.
Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said Welch told Palestinian officials that U.S. aid would be redirected, but did not elaborate.
The U.S. and the European Union, the Palestinian Authority's main donors, have threatened to cut off hundreds of millions of dollars in financial backing if Hamas doesn't abandon its violent campaign against Israel. With that threat looming, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, who favors peacemaking with Israel, again warned in comments published Saturday that he would quit if Hamas didn't change its ways.

Today in history - Feb. 26
Sunday, Feb. 26, the 57th day of 2006. On Feb. 26, 1993, a bomb built by Islamic extremists exploded in the parking garage of New York's World Trade Center, killing six people and injuring more than 1,000 others.
Thank you President Clinton. Thank you for responding so forthrightly and preparing this country and our military for the war of the worlds.
Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice stated, “For 60 years my country has pursued stability at the expense of democracy in this [Middle East] region...by trying to purchase stability at the price of liberty, we achieved neither and we saw the result of that on a fine September morning.”
Surprising Op-Ed piece in the International Herald Tribune/The New York Times-- surprising for left-wing dhimmi denialists.Yes, they are finally on to something - not the whole of it mind you, but something. They took the coward's way out but it's a start. This is not a tangential war, or a war on the periphery, nor are we mere spectators. This is as much our war as it is "moderate Islam's." The whole of the free world is threatened and aggressive strategies are necessary. Loyalty to country, not party.
With every new riot over the Danish cartoons, it becomes clearer that the protests are no longer about the caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad, but about the demagoguery of Islamic extremists.[Aha!- they are finally getting it - Atlas] The demonstrators are undeniably outraged by what they perceive as blasphemy. But radical Islamists are trying to harness that indignation to their political goals and their theocratic ends by fomenting hatred for the West and for moderate regimes in the Muslim world. These are dangerous games, and they require the most resolute response.[Another ginormous aha! moment for this lefty terror-enabling newspaper - Atlas]
It is not the West that is most threatened in this crisis. [This is where they got it wrong, the West is seriously threatened here as well- Atlas] . The voices of moderation in the Muslim world are the ones that are being intimidated and silenced. Those few journalists and leaders who have spoken out against the rioting have been vilified and assailed, and even jailed.[So what took you so long to speak out? Why did so many have to die? Why was it OK to kill Jews and support those murderers? And why hasn't this "epiphany" become the crusade of this and every newspaper to educate and rally the peoples of the free world to fight back? As the New York Times goes so goes the rest of the MSM. Being the template is an en0rmous responsibility that the Times has all but abandoned, Becoming, instead ,a shill for the far left - Atlas]
According to a report in The New York Times, 11 journalists in five Islamic countries face prosecution for printing some of the Danish cartoons, even when their purpose was to condemn them. [So now you care? Because it were journalists killed? How self important and disgusting of you - Atlas]
In most of these cases, the legal action represents attempts by cowed authorities to appease the Islamists. But the effect - in Yemen, Jordan and other countries - has only been to give extremists a dollop of legitimacy, and to encourage them to turn up the heat. That, in turn, increases the perception of a "clash of civilizations" between Islam and the West. [It's not a perception you silly silly fools - Atlas]
It is time for moderate Muslims to abandon the illusion that they can placate the Islamists by straddling the fence. [Hey NY Times and Herald Tribune - the same can be said about you and your lack of action - Atlas] It is they who must explain to their people that the cartoons were an isolated incident, and not the face of hostile crusaders. [It is you too that must take the same action - Atlas] It is they who must make it clear to their people that blowing up mosques, beheading hostages and strapping on belts of explosives are far, far greater evils than a few drawings in a distant paper. They must do so because their future is at stake - not Denmark's. [All of our futures are at stake - all-Atlas]
Another shocker from the internationalist New York Times owned International Herald Tribune;
The shame of the UN
International Herald Tribune
A once-promising reform proposal for the United Nations Human Rights Commission has been so watered down that it has become an ugly sham.
Do not for one second, think I am exaggerating. Iraq, Iran, Syria, France, Denmark, .....these incidents are not separate or disconnected. They are all part of the Radical Islamists' attempt to take over the world. Sit by and you are a willing dhimmi.
Mofaz said, “The latest contacts between the Hamas and Iran, and Khaled Mashal’s trip to Teheran to obtain Iranian support and to create an alliance, brings the axis of evil of Iran, Syria, Hizbullah, and Hamas, right here.”
Mofaz told Welch that the Hamas had specific plans to intensify its relationship with Iran and Hizbullah. “We know about their intentions,” said Mofaz, “and Israel cannot agree to that.”
Despite veiled hints that Hamas might accept Israel de facto within its pre-1967 borders, Mofaz said Israel would not be amenable to any negotiations with the terror group which won a landslide victory against the Fatah in Palestinian Authority elections last month. He called the Hamas approach, “sweet talk.”
I don't why the media ignores these blatant declarations of war and then are shocked, shocked! when heinous islamic terrorists attack Western targets. They've only just begun. They want us out of Iraq, Europe, and America. Wake up people.
That this story is not splashed across the front pages of every American newspaper illustrates how dangerous the left wing media is. We are in for the fight of our lives but you'd never know it from getting your news from the mainstream media.
Sheikh Ismail Nawahda, preaching to Moslem masses on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem on Friday, has brought it out into the open: the call to restore the Moslem Khalifate, or, "Genuine Islamic Rule."
A plan for the "Return of the Khalifate" was published secretly in 2002 by a group called "The Guiding Helper Foundation." The group explained that it wished to "give direction to the educated Muslim populace in its increasing interest in the establishment of Islam as a practical system of rule."
This past Friday, Feb. 24, however, the plan went public. Sheikh Nawahda called publicly for the renewal of the Islamic Khalifate, which would "unite all the Moslems in the world against the infidels."
The Khalifate system features a leader, known as a Khalif, who heads worldwide Islam. Assisted by a ten-man council, his decisions are totally binding on all Moslems.
According to the Foundation's vision of the Khalifate, significant punishment can only be meted out for 14 crimes, including "accusing a chaste person of fornication," "not performing the formal prayer," and "not fasting during Ramadan."
Read it all ........ fight the fight.

American asylum for French jews, Petition here
After the barbaric torture and assassination of a young Jew from Paris, because he was Jewish, in a context of Islamic anti-Semitism rising in this country, more and more members of the French Jewish community are no longer feeling safe. The number of Anti-Semitic acts in France has reached a level not seen since World War II.
We think that America, faithful to its tradition of offering asylum to people facing danger in their own country should open its doors to them. We ask the Congress to pass a legislation that would give the status of refugee to French Jews.

The Ahmadinejad "administration" believes public hangings increase stock market values, not to mention disposing the despot of those not in his favor, or perceived enemies, or whatever the whim of Ahmadjihadman.
Ahmadinejad told the cabinet meeting back in October that “if we were permitted to hang two or three persons, the problems with the stock exchange would be solved for ever”, according to a Tehran-based newspaper.
This execution brings to 22 the number of people executed in Iran this year, according to an AFP tally based on press reports and witnesses. At least 81 people were counted as having been executed in Iran in 2005.
That's what we know about , that's what Iran has decided to disseminate to the world press for consumption, to show how really tough and nasty they are. Public hangings to show the world "hey fellas we mean business.' And it's not just men, it's equal opportunity murder. Ardeshir Dolat reporting that a young Iranian girl had been sentenced to death by hanging.
Imagine all of the helpless murdered souls that die in secret.
I am not at all surprised that Dr. Wheeler and I see eye to eye, tooth to tooth, and reason to reason on the current burlesque the Democrats have manufactured to distract and confuse the American people. And with a willing and complicit fifth column fourth estate (the press), it's a no brainer getting their knee jerk message out there. Those lap dogs can't lap it up fast enough.
The Republicans chasing lefty tail on this is unfortunate but they will see through this ruse of that I am sure.
The first casualty of political conquest is the truth.
The Federalist Patriot makes points here
Despite the rancor, the U.S. does not outsource the protection of our critical national-security infrastructure.
Approval of the DPW proposal underwent three months of interagency review. According to Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England, "This review definitely was not cursory and it definitely was not casual. Rather, it was in depth and comprehensive." This is the same review that management companies based in China, Denmark, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan underwent before being authorized to manage terminals in the port of Los Angeles. We might add, China now manages some terminals on both ends of the Panama Canal.
Foreign investment in the U.S., including port management, is nothing new.
Dr. Jack Wheeler's take is much more in depth than my previous post earlier this week here.
But Wheeler is a paid subscription only so I am running the whole thing. And if you don't have a subscription - get one here, NOW, worth every last penny. Jack rocks - bad dah bing, bad dah boom
DISRAELI IN DUBAI Written by Dr. Jack Wheeler
The 19th century British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1881) once commented on accusations that a political opponent of his was lying regarding an important issue before Parliament: "It is worse than a lie - it is a blunder."
We can be sure that the Earl of Beaconsfield (the peerage awarded to Disraeli by Queen Victoria) would make the same observation today over the travails of George Bush and the port scandal.
There is no secret deal here. CFIUS, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, that vets these things, ran it through 12 agencies including Defense, Treasury, State, Homeland Security, and the White House National Security Council. Their approval was unanimous. Had just one objected, it would have been put on a 45-day investigative hold.
Bush was blindsided on this out of sheer naiveté. He still can't accept as real the bottomless mendacity of Democrats. For Barbara Boxer and Chuck Schumer to foment in protest over a deal with America's closest Arab ally, when they have gone far more ballistic at any suggestion that Arabs be profiled at US airports - well, I guess it's standard liberal chutzpah.
Outdoing Bush in naiveté are Republicans in Congress being led with rings in their noses by Boxer and Schumer into an orgy of Bush-bashing. It would be nice if they all took a deep breath, switched on their brains, and began thinking of how to take advantage of this fiasco.
Wouldn't it be great if Bill Frist stood up in the Senate Chamber and congratulated his Democrat colleagues for their concern over the safety of America's ports, and that he was sure they would now show their concern for the safety of America's airports by mandating Arab Moslem male passengers instead of grandmas and others at politically correct random?
Or if Denny Hastert stood up in the House Chamber to say he was sure his Democrat colleagues, so newly passionate about national security and concerned over our dependence on Arab oil, would now support drilling oil in Alaska's ANWR, offshore drilling in Florida and the East Coast, and eliminating government restrictions so that nuclear power plants and oil refineries can be built in three to four years.
So, should the deal with Dubai Ports World be toast? Because the Dems have demonized the UAE in order to demonize Bush once again, this is going to be tricky. So let's talk about this place, the United Arab Emirates.
It's a collection of seven tiny Persian Gulf sheikhdoms welded together by the Brits in 1892, changing what was called the Pirate Coast to the Trucial Coast, and creating a British Protectorate protecting them from the Ottoman Turks. The truce between the seven - Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Fujaira, Ajman, Umm al Qaiwan, and Ras al-Kaimah - worked so well that by 1972, they were transformed into the UAE, with their respective leaders being upgraded from sheikhs to emirs.
They were all mud hut fishing villages until oil was found in Abu Dhabi and pumped out in quantity in the 1960s. With one exception, the other emirates were happy to kick back and live off Abu Dhabi's largesse. The exception was Dubai. The Maktoum clan of the Babi Yas tribe that runs Dubai have always been traders. So they made a decision in the 1970s to prosper on their own.
They did it be transforming their mud hut fishing village into the Hong Kong of the Middle East. Their success in doing so has been beyond spectacular.
If you associate "Arabs" with "camel-herding" and "poverty," if you visit Dubai you're in for the shock of your life. For openers, there's the world's only seven star hotel, the Burj al-Arab (see photo)
The amount of business being done in Dubai is staggering, thanks to a zero corporate tax rate, no restrictions on repatriation of capital, and 100% foreign ownership of businesses permitted. The Dubai International Finance Center, with millions of square feet of state-of-the-art hi-tech office space, is rapidly becoming the Wall Street of the Middle East.
Dubai Healthcare City is a $3 billion project, making the emirate a world class center for medical treatment, research, and education that includes branches of the Mayo Clinic and the Harvard Medical School.
With a $5 billion dollar project called Dubailand, it plans on being the Disneyland of the Middle East, with 15 million additional tourists as year.
There are millions of tourists and businessmen coming every year to Dubai already. The lubricant of tourism, of course, is booze, rivers of which flow through Dubai's hotels, bars, and discos. Remember this is a Moslem country.
And wherever there are hordes of tourists with money, there are hordes of hookers. Prostitution is as illegal as it is in Las Vegas. Every bar in every 4 and 5 star hotel in Dubai offers a selection of ladies from Russia, England, China, Pakistan, the Philippines, Ethiopia, and elsewhere. The Cyclone Disco is legendary for being a "United Nations of prostitution," with over 500 international ladies of the evening available on an average night.
You would think that this debauch of money, booze, and sex would outrage the Islamists. Yet Dubai has never been hit with a terrorist attack. Right across the sandy border, Saudi Arabia has been hit by suicidal Moslem crazies numerous times. But Dubai - America's best friend in Arab-land, the Moslem Fleshpot - never.
That's because Dubai, besides being the Middle East's Hong Kong, Wall Street, Disneyland, and Las Vegas, is also the Middle East's Switzerland, where everyone's money no matter how drug, mafia, or terrorist-tainted, is handled with equal discretion.
That's the trade-off. As it's the place where terrorists can do business, the terrorists leave it alone.
But what if Al Qaeda or an Al Qaeda wannabe decides to blackmail the Dubai government, owners of Dubai Ports World? One suicide bomber wiping out the lobby of the Burj al-Arab could cost Dubai billions in tourist and investment revenue. To prevent this, all DPW has to do is insert a few Al Qaeda boys to work in American ports.
Terrorist Blackmail is the security issue that needs to be discussed.
The Bushistas have made a bewildering blunder in not briefing Congress and preempting Democratic demagoguery. A lot of conservatives knee-jerk reacted with a "not just no but hell no!" unthinking rejection like Sue Myrick (R-NC). This is going to change as conservatives calm down and actually start to reflect on the matter, instead of venting and demagoguing like liberals do.
Take a look at the White House's reasoning in its Fact Sheet on the CFIUS Process and the DP World Transaction. The case is well made. If the White House can effectively assuage the terrorist blackmail concern, then you'll see a shift in support for the president.
It has already begun - Jack Kelly's column, Is It Smart To Attack All Moslems?, this week is example.
Look at it this way - to be on the side of Barbara Boxer, Chuck Schumer, and Hillary Clinton and against George Bush on an issue is prima facie not pro-American.
Maybe - just maybe - the port scandal will turn out not to be a Bushie blunder at all. You wonder what Disraeli would say about that.
Thanks Jack........... (click below for Kelly's column)
This should be good, the three evil doers, the three countries responsible for the nuclear standoff are getting to together to "discuss" - translation- to do a jig - to laugh out of their snouts. - Oh to be a fly on the wall at that little kaffe klatch.

Iran sets centrifuges to work on uranium Herald Tribune
PARIS: International nuclear inspectors are expected to report next week that Iran has started producing enriched uranium,European officials said Friday.
Only a month after Tehran defied Europe and the International Atomic Energy Agency and declared that it would restart what it termed "research" on enrichment, it has put 10 centrifuge machines into operation at the vast uranium enrichment plant at Natan
There is no way you can deal rationally with savages. Nyet. So this means what? We have to wait for these barbarians to drop the first nuke? They have made their position perfectly clear. Are we deaf? They are the largest state sponsor of terror. Are we blind? They sponsor Hamas and Hizbollah? Can we not act? The Palestinian Arabs elected Hamas. Having read the Hamas mission statement, isn't the results of that election an out and out declaration of war?
You can put any intellectual spin you want on that festering boil. It is what it is. A is A.
