December 31, 2005, New York Post -- For 18 years, the Media Research Center has been compiling its list of "notable quotables." The quotes, from prominent members of the mainstream news media, provide a clear window into the leftist mindset that pervades most of America's large news organizations. At year's end, the center (aided by a panel of judges) chooses the "best" examples. As usual, this year's crop tellingly reveals the media's perennial contempt for all things conservative. The entire leftist identity of the media would dry up and blow away like the oak leaves of 2005 if we could post comments on their screed. They remain insulated from the public, therefore, they travel aimlessly leftward. There are few of them, and every day, fewer. The sales and distribution of their platforms are in decline. The resulting void is being filled with internet and interactive information sources. The writing is on the wall, poor leftist, your utopia is gone, gone with the wind.
