I am calling on the blogosphere to BOYCOTT MARRIOTT HOTELS.

Brigitte Gabriel was good enough to share the latest act of dhimmitude by an American company by capitulating  and accommodating  CAIR but refusing to serve those of us fighting for America. If the Marriott Corporation wants  to operate in America, make money in America, be free to pursue their profits in America, enjoy the freedom of America - then don't stand in the way of the very people putting their asses on the line to make that happen.

The Georgetown Marriott Conference Center rejected a "terrorism" symposium on the grounds that the sponsoring organization was too controversial and the venue inappropriate for this type of forum. Concurrently, another Marriott Hotel in the Washington area is hosting the Council on American- Islamic Relations' annual conference ・and participating as a panelist at the gala will be an alleged co conspirator of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

According to the Georgetown Marriott executives, the decision to reject the event, being hosted by the People's Truth Forum, or PTF, was based upon business considerations: "The event would call for heightened security since protesters might be attracted from both the student body and off campus. These same protesters might block the front entrance leading to confrontations with hotel guests and/or room cancellations." COWARDS!

After researching the matter, the Marriott's corporate office supported the local decision and issued the following statement: <>"Due to the high density of Muslim students on campus, we're afraid of the potential for violent protests, injured employees and damage to the facility."

 According to PTF's president, Jeffrey Epstein, "The People's Truth Forum, a fact-based, non-partisan organization, is dedicated to educating Americans on topics of national security. Controversy and resistance is nothing new to us given our commitment to disseminating 'unpopular' truths."

Epstein added: "Although I don't harbor ill feelings toward the Marriott Corporation for their weak-kneed 'business' decision pertaining to the Georgetown property, I am deeply troubled by the realization that a major American corporation could fear reprisal from enemy sympathizers, within our borders, during a time of war. This situation certainly begs the question as to what degree our national security has already been compromised."

Today, CAIR will host its 11th Annual Banquet at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Va. CAIR is a self-proclaimed Muslim advocacy group that has its roots in the Palestinian Hamas. CAIR's parent organization, the Islamic Association for Palestine, was founded by Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzook. CAIR, itself, has had numerous individuals convicted in and/or deported by the United States for terrorist activity. And CAIR is the defendant in a lawsuit put forward by the family of a lead FBI agent for that agent's murder during the September 11 attacks.

CAIR has advertised on its website that it will be featuring Siraj Wahhaj as one of the speakers at the banquet. Wahhaj, an imam at the At-Taqwa Mosque in Brooklyn, N.Y., is known for having his name on the U.S. attorney's list of potential coconspirators of the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Two of the individuals convicted in the bomb plot, Omar Abdel Rahman (the leader of the conspiracy) and Clement Rodney Hampton-El (an expert bomb maker), worshipped at Wahhaj's mosque. Wahhaj was also a character witness for Abdel Rahman at the 1995 trial against him.

What does this say about our current state of affairs, when one of the largest American corporations is willing to silence an ally and give voice to the enemy? It says that we, as a nation, are on a dangerous path that only starts with appeasement, yet ends in our destruction. If the Marriott is a test case for the future consciousness of America, then we can be assured that we will have no future.

Your post refers to a lawsuit against CAIR by the family of a “lead FBI agent” who was murdered during the 9-11 attack. This refers to John O’Neil, a recently retired FBI Special Agent (SA). SA O’Neil was a great man with a close connection to New York. Perhaps a few additional words about him are in order.

O’Neil was from a blue collar family in Atlantic City. He started with the FBI as a fingerprint clerk at headquarters in the era of J. Edgar Hoover (1970). He got his college degree at American University while working full time at FBI and was appointed a Special Agent in 1976. O’Neil proved himself as a successful case agent, was promoted to management and rose quickly through the ranks. He served as the Special Agent in Charge for National Security (including Counter-Terrorism) matters at the New York Field Office and as Chief of the Counter-Terrorism section at FBIHQ.

O’Neil saw early on that Radical Islamic terrorism (particularly Al Queda) was a threat and relentlessly pushed himself and his subordinates in these investigations. He led the FBI team to Yemen to investigate the Cole bombing. His bulldog style succeeded in alienating the U.S. Ambassador. This event arguably caused his early retirement from FBI in early 2001.

On September 11, 2001 O’Neil had recently been hired as security director for the World Trade Center. He was outside when the planes hit. His first cell-phone call was to the Counter-Terrorism section at FBIHQ. He then re-entered the WTC to direct rescue efforts and died as a hero.

John O’Neil exemplified the best of the “old Bureau” but also pioneered the investigation of 21st century threats. He was a great FBI Special Agent and a great American.

O’Neil’s remarkable life story was discussed on a segment of PBS Frontline. He was also the subject of an excellent biography, The Man Who Warned America. The biography is available, used, for $.60 at Amazon, which is some kind of statement.

P.S. I have a small correction to your post. The term “lead agent” refers to an agent who does a specific task on a case directed by another agent. The agent responsible for a particular case is the “case agent”. O’Neil was at a higher level than a case agent. As Chief of the Counter-Terrorism Section he directed all FBI counter-terrorism efforts.

I don't understand why you call for a boycott of the Marriott Hotel chain for refusing to rent conference space to a group based on the fact that the corporation fears violence and damge to it's corporate property at the hands of Islamists who may choose to react to the agenda of the conference organizers.
I applaude Marriott for publicly acknowleging that they realize Islamists are a dangerous group as a whole and are capable of inflicting great damage at the slightest provocation.
I also applaude Marriott Corporation for putting the safety of its employees ahead of renting rooms and conference space.
Had I been handling booking an event of such a nature,unless the conference co-ordinator from PTF was willing to cover all the costs of the added security for the event,I would not be able to rent them the space.

Let's keep in mind that the JW Marriott hotel in Jakarta was bombed a few years ago, so the managment of Marriot really does know what it's like to lose co-workers in a terrorist attack. I'm inclined to cut them some slack here.

A hotel chain is not an army, and it's not a police force. We can all say that we'd tell those rag-head pukes to fuck off, and blow them away if they showed up with bombs tied around their waists, but how many of us are responsible for the safety of people working for us?

I won't be boycotting Marriott, because it's a pointless, knee-jerk thing to do.

I fail to see either of your points; while the Marriott may indeed be very aware from past experience what it's like to be attacked, why then are they allowing CAIR (representative of the very same religion that bombed them in Jakarta) the freedom to speak at one of their hotels? So the religion responsible for bombing gets in but the Marriott limits an organization who only wants to educate on how to counter terrorism?

This is a free speech issue: of course we know Americans won't bomb or retaliate if CAIR speaks -- we're part of a civilized society. Does that mean you grant those who support terrorism a voice while silencing mine?

Marriott didn't choose on the basis of what either group intended to say, they made their decision based on a risk assessment. One group is the target of a threat, the other is not.

As much as I'd like to just tell the rag heads "bring it on, Motherfucker", and hope that everyone else would do likewise, I'm responsible only for my own safety. Marriott is a company with thousands of employees who might be put at risk. I'm not going to second-guess that decision or punish them for it.

Marriot made a business decision that they felt was in their best interest. For Marriot to have to do this is a sad note. Out of fear they have to turn away law bidding customers accomodate the same customers that they fear.

I suspect that the Marriot Corp's position may have more to do with Mormonism than anti-Americanism, and how an anti-Muslim position might impact foreign countries' willingness to welcome Mormon missionaries. Marriot has its roots in the Mormon church (that's why you see the Book of Mormon in Marriot nightstands). It's just a thought. I'm not ant-Mormon, just thinking about the spiritual position otherwise socially responsible American corporations with religious foundations might do.

I'm now realizing just what the value of AtlasShrugs and Great Leader Pam is for me. It can replace ole Jesse.

I travel a lot for work and pleasure, and will not be staying in a Marriot from here on in. You cannot reward threats of violence with capitualation unless you want more threats of violence.
