A Yiddish Tale! La Shanah Tovah!

Israel_rainbow_zion
A rainbow over Mt. Zion, in Jerusalem
Happy New Year - G-d bless you

A Great Story .....

Meyer, a lonely widower, was walking home along Delancy Street one day wishing something wonderful would happen in his life, when he passed a pet store and heard a squawking voice shouting out in Yiddish, "Quawwwwk...vus machts du?" (How're ya doin')

"Yeah, du." (Yeah, you.)

Meyer rubbed his eyes and ears. Couldn't believe it. Perfect Yiddish.

The proprietor urged him, "Come in here, fella, and check out this parrot..."

Meyer did. An African Grey cocked his little head and said: "Vus? Kenstsprechen Yiddish?" (What? Can you speak Yiddish?)

In a matter of moments, Meyer had placed five hundred dollars on the counterJewish_parrot_1 and carried the parrot in his cage away with him. All night he talked with the parrot. In Yiddish. He told the parrot about his father's adventures coming to America. About how beautiful his late wife, Sarah, was when she was a young bride. About his family. About his years of working in the garment district. About Florida.

The parrot listened and commented.

They shared  some walnuts.

The parrot told him of living in the pet store, how lonely he would get on the weekends. They both went to sleep.

Next morning, Meyer began to put on his Tfillin, all the while saying his prayers. The parrot demanded to know what he was doing and when Meyer explained, the parrot wanted to do the same. Meyer went out and had a miniature set of tfillin hand made for the parrot.

The parrot wanted to learn to daven, and learned every prayer. He even wanted to learn to read Hebrew.

So Meyer spent weeks and months, sitting and teaching the parrot, teaching him Torah. In time, Meyer came to love and count on the parrot as a friend and fellow Jew.

One morning, on Rosh Hashanah, Meyer rose and got dressed and was about to leave when the parrot demanded to go with him. Meyer explained that Shul was not a place for a bird, but the parrot made a terrific argument, so Meyer relented and carried the bird to Shul on his shoulder.

Needless to say, they made quite a spectacle, and Meyer was questioned by everyone, including the Rabbi and the Cantor. They refused to allow a bird into the building on the High Holy Days, but Meyer persuaded them to let him in this one time, swearing that parrot could daven.

Wagers were made with Meyer.

Thousands of dollars were bet that the parrot could NOT daven, could not speak Yiddish or Hebrew, etc.

All eyes were on the African Grey during services. The parrot perched on Meyer's shoulder as one prayer and song passed - Meyer heard not a peep from the bird. He began to become annoyed, slapping at his shoulder and mumbling under his breath, "Daven!" Nothing.

"Daven...parrot, you can daven, so daven...come on, everyone is looking at you!"
Nothing. After Rosh Hashanah services were concluded, Meyer found that he owed his Shul buddies and the Rabbi over four thousand dollars.

He marched home, so upset he said nothing to the parrot.

Finally several blocks from the Temple the Parrot began to sing an old Yiddish song, as happy as a lark.

Meyer stopped and looked at him.

"Why? After I had tfillin made for you and taught you the morning prayers, and taught you to read Hebrew and the Torah. And after you beggedme to bring you to Shul on Rosh Hashana, why? WHY?!? Why did you do this tome?"

Meyer, don't be a schmuck," the parrot replied. "Think of the odds we'll get on Yom Kippur!"

Anti-War Jews Worry About Anti-Israel Left

I sent the following lettter to the editor of the Baltimore Jewish Times in response to the article:
Anti-War Jews Worry About Anti-Israel Left

It's a dilemma that the national Jewish leadership may soon face as support for the war falls. In surveys last year, U.S. Jews opposed the war in even greater numbers than non-Jews, while recent surveys show that a majority of Americans oppose how the Bush administration is handling the situation.

Jewish officials say privately that they're seeking an outlet for burgeoning anti-war sentiment at the grassroots level, but the problem is that some of the war's leading opponents -- such as Cindy Sheehan, a mother whose son died in the war -- equate the U.S.-led occupation of Iraq with Israel's occupation of the West Bank.

editor@jewishtimes.com

To the Editor,

Re: The article: Click here: National News, Anti-War Jews Worry About Anti-Israel Left
Please be so kind as to advise Mr. Waskow who pined;
I'm deeply disappointed at the silence of the larger Jewish organizations about the war. They've wasted a hunk of next generations of Jews, and wasted a connection with decent parts of the anti-war movement."

how deeply disappointed I am in him and the message he is attempting to impart to American Jewish youth. Fighting despotism, jihadism, rape, torture, and abetters to terror is an affront to our mission of  "tikun olam".

Waskow supports and enables Jew Haters. Know this.

I was at the debate in NYC between Hitchens and Galloway.
When I jeered at Galloway for calling Sharon a butcher and a war criminal, the anti-war audience screamed "ZIONIST" at me in the same tone as one would spew "dirty jew" (yes, this in New York City no less, host to 9/11). And when I stood up and said yes, I am a zionist repeatedly, I was jeered and nearly removed from the theater.Iraq_israel
The anti-war movement is virulently antisemetic.
The war in Iraq is part of the War on Jihadism. Israel's mortal enemy Jihadism. Top U.S. military intelligence officer in Iraq, Maj.-Gen. Richard Zahner, said Abu Musab Zarqawi and his foreign and Iraqi associates have commandeered the insurgency, becoming the dominant opposition force and the greatest immediate threat to U.S. objectives in the country. U.S. military leaders say they now see Zarqawi's group, known as al-Qaeda in Iraq,as the insurgency's driving element.  Zarqawi's network is said to be behind a disproportionately large share of the violence.
The Jews that prop up the anti-war movement are as much Israel's enemy as Islamic Jihad.

As I kid I never understood how six million Jews could be murdered. I never understood it. I never understood how the world would let such a heinous crime against humanity happen.
I understand now. And I understand that the Jew can be complicit in the extermination of her homeland. Shame Shame Shame on Waskow and his well intentioned minions.

IFC Dead! One man can make a difference

From Bruce , Liberal Hawk;

Bruce_super_hero_1 The defeat of the IFC is a very significant happening for me personally. It was first time in my life that I engaged in a letter writing campaign to multiple politicians, including Pataki, to try and make a difference.

I have an original, signed letter from Rudy Giuliani responding to my "IFC: anywhere BUT there" letter.   I will be framing that behind glass next to a copy of the article announcing the recent victory.  Feel some pity for my G-d willing) future children. They may suffer some subtle disfigurement from the repeated rubbing of their noses in that symbol of possibility.

Israelis sneak into New Orleans to help those in post-Katrina chaos

NEW YORK, Sept. 27 (JTA) — Washington may have rebuffed Israeli offers of expert assistance in the days after Hurricane Katrina, but a team of Israeli rescue personnel managed to deploy in some of the worst-hit areas around New Orleans, JTA has learned.

The 18-member team — which included physicians, mental health professionals, trauma specialists, logistics experts and a special unit of Israeli police divers — arrived in St. Bernard Parish and Plaquemines Parish on Sept. 10 and spent a week and a half assisting fire department search-and-rescue squads and sitting in on daily planning meetings that included local leadership and a complement of FEMA, police, military and fire representatives,...

even the really smart people in hollywood are scary morons ie Nora Ephron

Nora Ephron, allegedly one of the smartest women in Hollywood, takes a stab explaining the phenomenon of blogging, actually it is more like a desperate attempt to marginalize the blogosphere. Her "article' is full of insights like;

 He says that what blogs are really good at is getting to the truth. He says that ifBlogs Jayson Blair's fraudulent articles had appeared on the Internet instead of in the New York Times, he would have been nailed immediately. I guess this is the case, although I can't help but think Calacanis is missing the delicious point about truth and blogs. It's not that the blogosphere doesn't care about the truth, but that truth is a very limited
say what?
it gets worse
 undefined spent some time drawing a distinction between bloggers and journalists.Sean_penn_gun_hollywood_lunatic I think she said you could be a journalist but not write journalism, or else she said you could be in journalism but not be a journalist. She definitely said a blogger could perform an act of journalism without being a journalist exactly. It was sort of existential and reminded me of the question, "Is a play a play if it isn't being performed?" She also spoke eloquently about drinking, being drunk, being hung over, and never being anywhere without a miniature bottle of Jim Beam. She was fantastically fast and funny, and if I were a straight man or a gay woman I would have gotten a huge, pathetic crush on her. She has written a novel and showed me the manuscript, which was in her tote bag. Her tote bag was pretty messy, and so was mine, so that made things even more exciting. I don't have a clue how she has had time to write a novel, what with the blogging and the drinking, but I guess you save a lot of time not having to do any reporting.

And worse.
BTW no mention of LGF, Little Green Footballs, Instapundit, Roger Simon, the real players. The warriors in the media war assuming the mantle of real journalism, exposing the  grossly overrated  truth. It was such a hatchet job. The irony is the hatchet came down directly on Ephron. She is a poor writer whose thinly disguised agenda is painfully obvious, discredit the blogosphere. No matter what the left attempts to do they can not impede the steamroll of  the net and its historical implications.

We establish from the beginning that the best thing about being a blogger, besides not having to do reporting, is that you never actually have to get dressed -- you can work in your pajamas (Wonkette) or your bathrobe (Calacanis).

In refutation to her contention that bloggers are not journalists, I beg to differ as noted here.

I could call Ken Auletta and ask him what it was he said exactly, but that would involve reporting, and I learned this morning at the panel on blogs that when you are a blogger, you are so busy blogging that you don't have time to report.

When the MSM describes the blogs, they paint a marginal, eccentric, obnoxious, misinformed motley crew of losers (ie KOS, DU, Wonkette) sitting home scratching their asses in their pajamas. Who could possibly take this movement seriously with MOE LARRY AND CURLY as the face of Blogdom? Never do you see the true brilliant giants of the blogosphere ie Powerline, Little Green Footballs, Russell Maddens, Instapundit ............

Jonah Goldberg put it most succinctly;

Don't let the word 'conservative' fool you. Rebels on the right were pioneers in the political exploitation of new and alternative technologies long before anyone knew what blogs were. Led by Rush Limbaugh, conservatives even revived AM radio, making it a major source of a populist backlash against liberal-controlled institutions. Cable profoundly transformed politics. C-Span alone did more to demystify government than a generation of muckrakers -- or bloggers -- ever could. CNN pioneered the steady erosion of the Big Three Networks' stranglehold on information. Later, Fox News soon destroyed CNN's stranglehold on 24-hour news. And, remember, the Internet was a big deal before the onset of the blogs as well. For good or for ill, Matt Drudge refused to treat the MSM as a sacred monastery, and in many respects he remains the uber-blogger. ... Left-wing bloggers believe they are part of the same 'revolution' as right-wing bloggers are. They're not. The conservative blogs are the shock troops of a decades-long battle to seize back the culture. Conservatives have always had to rely on 'alternative media' -- magazines, AM radio, blogs -- because the Mainstream Media barred the door to conservatives. And even when they let a few token ones in, they had to be labeled 'conservative' first and journalists a distant second. The lefty blogs are something else entirely. They represent -- much like the still lame liberal talk radio and the new liberal think tanks -- an attempt to copycat conservative successes. Their fight is not with the monolithic mainstream media (or academia) but with the usurpers. Politics is not a battle of technology. It is a battle of ideas, and therein lies all the difference."

BINGO!

I have often said this and I preach it anywhere and everywhere I go. The net, the blogosphere is the future for all media, replicating the media landscape of Lincoln. For as much harm as it can do (ie spreading the deadly poison of radical islam, disseminating critical info on bombmaking, nuclear site info etc), I believe it will serve a much greater good. The 2004Left_creed presidential election was an indication but just the tip of the iceberg.The Blogosphere changed the course of the election. The Swift boat boys, the Powerline and Charles Johnson/Little Green Footballs expose of RATHERGATE........... this in IMHO changed the course of human events.........if not for the blogboys the chances are pretty damn good that sKerry/annan/chirac would be in the Whitehouse selling this constitutional republic down the river like a $2 dollar whore.

oh and BTW, I think Ephron's movies suck.

Hamas Al Qaeda, one and the same.......Always

Nuriel_murdered_jew From:Arutz Sheva:
Hamas Releases Iraq-Style Video of Murdered Israeli The Hamas terror group released a video Tuesday of kidnapped Israeli Jew Sasson Nuriel taken just before he was murdered by Arab terrorists.

"With the help of Allah, the men of the squad for releasing the prisoners of the Izzadin al-Kassam Brigade succeeded in kidnapping a Zionist Shabak (General Security Service) agent whose name is Sasson Nuriel," the terrorists in the video said. "He was a settler in occupied Jerusalem and carried an Israeli identity card whose number is 053246419. Nuriel is 50-years-old and eight months."

The release of a video of kidnapping victims has become a trademark of Al-Qaeda and other Islamic terrorists in Iraq.

Capitalism for Dummies: Defend Your Nuts!

The best post this week  is at Hamster Motortime, Tom is America's greatest untapped resource. He is my nomination for Alan Greenspan's successor. You must read it all and send it to your Democrat socialist elected officials (so good they are at spending my money);

Defend your nuts: a parable on property rights and hippies

Suppose you were a squirrel. You would work hard to find the biggest nuts, and then stash those large nuts in secret places. You'd only do so if you had a high degree of assurance that those nuts would be there, unrotted and ready to eat, when your life depended on them. You'd have to depend on other squirrels to not steal your nuts, and assure them that you would do likewise.

Now suppose that a pack of liberal chinchillas, calling themselves the Friends of the Forest, cameSquirrel_nuts_1 along preaching the evils of despoiling the forest by the secretion of nuts. They would climb onto tree stumps and proclaim,  "You have destroyed our natural panoply and ruined the aesthetic balance of nature, man. Your lives are a blight on the harmony of our forest. For the greater good of our nurturing forest, you must change your ways. Or else."

Then they would harass every squirrel out trying to find nuts, calling them fascists incomparably more evil than the infamous squirrel known as "Muffins." They would raid all the nut caches they could find, throwing the hard-sought nuts into the river. They would carry around chunks of sandalwood and tufts of unknown leaves that had been struck by lightning, claiming they "enhanced the psychic atmosphere." Worse yet, they would subject every young squirrel to merciless indoctrination, turning them into anemic grass-eating advocates of Chinchillism ready to denounce their thrifty parents to the nearest Friend of the Forest. Squirrels would wake up uncertain of whether they would be able to collect any nuts at all that day, or whether any nuts they did find would be safe from the chinchillas or their squirrel abettors. Each squirrel would look out only for himself, eager to strike a deal with the Friends of the Forest.

You would be righteously indignant and would express your rage in a barely audible "scrick," by which you mean, "you malodorous chinchilla marauders have destroyed our right to the rightfully acquired fruits of our labor, and in doing so secured our certain death by starvation. We, the squirrels, depend upon the continued existence of immutable property rights for the maintainance of any survival above the savage existence of our early squirrel ancestors.

Score for The Democrats' and Soros' Hit List: Tom Delay

We knew it was coming. We shouldn't be surprised.  The left owns Earl, they own the media, and Delay was number one on their list. Indicted on a campaign financing scheme? Who knows more about campaign finance then good ole NY Senator Boss Clinton.

Why is it no one ever brings up Delay's little known enormous acts of kindness? Well allow me to speak of the goodness of the man. His advocacy for foster children is something that even the most hardened liberals begrudgingly applaud him for. For many years now, DeLay has been working to improve the foster-care system. He and his wife Casey, he and his wife Christine have raised three foster children. All of them were troubled teenagers who had been bounced around from home to home (the leasted wanted, the least "adoptable" kids). Casey Family Programs, for example, week presented  a leadership award "for his longstanding and impassioned commitment to bettering the lives and educational opportunities for children in foster care."

Innocent until proven guilty appears to apply only to Democraps and murderers (and even then, they are considered "victim" of their circumstances).
They wanted Trent Lott out, they got him out..........Robert Byrd was a high ranking KKK member, thats ok.
Delay says he is innocent. He calls the charge baseless and  a sham..........He accuses Ronnie Earl of abuse of power. All Democrat Earl had to do was get the indictment,and Delay stepped aside. That's a level of integrity the Republicans hold themselves up to. Not the Democrats, you can't get rid of them even after they've been impeached.   Republicans step aside, Democrats two step.

Democrat Ronnie Earl is a Democratic fundraiser.......
The indictment is not at all specific as to what Delay has done wrong. Just used that Boogyman "conspired". This is political payback.

UPDATE: 3:30 am September 29th......observations from Dr. NGH

The Democrats have been unable to win elections and thus power.  So the strategy they have evolved is to hamstring opponents such they cannot wield their power. In so doing they also think their own position is enhanced. These hatchet jobs have taken a variety of forms a la "Get Bush" any which way, but to my mind none so virulent as the relentless pursuit of Delay. They were so incensed over his redistricting plans, apparently a worthwhile activity only when done in their favor. The former charges regarding trips were so weak that Nancy Pelosi could barely get her own house in order to point fingers at Delay during her media shows, I mean press conferences. I could go on with what the problem is this time, but it so doesn't warrant it. This is a witch hunt and sometimes if they keep coming for you, they're going to find something. Look, right now they're talking to Rush Limbaugh's doctors to see if he tried to trick any of them into giving more pain pills than he should have. Half the nations celebritites including a prominent Palm Beach judge have had identical drug problems and we never do this. We never prosecute. It's obviously so politically motivated. I take solace in the fact that Delay is a man of the Lord as I see it and He takes care of His own. I look forward to watching this play out. The mofos are laying down their karma and I sort of get satisfaction from that.

DELAY INDICTED # posted by reliapundit

Delay was indicted in TRAVIS County Texas. For conspiracy.This is the same county that the fake BUSH TANG documents came from. (More HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE.)he Dem Travis county DA is a partisan hack, and the trumped up indictment (which took forever to arm-twist out of the Grand Jury - a normally pliable bunch - even though it is for conspiracy, which is well-known to be a charge of last resort) a WILD abuse of power.

This indictment is an outrageous partisan attack which is nothing more than an outrageous ABUSE OF POWER by the Democrat Travis Couty DA!

Unable to WIN AN ELECTION against the GOP and Delay, the immoral Leftists have reverted to form: abusing the coercive power of the state to attack popularly elected officials.

The Democrat Party - under the control of the immoral Left and the BDS afflicted - has no values, no policies, and no shame.

The truth will come out, and when it does, it will be another nail in the coffin of the Left. Thank God. The sooner the better.

Update: October 1st
Just for knowing...............

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has fined two leadership PACs associated with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in response to a Complaint filed by the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) on October 25, 2002. The FEC also has fined three campaigns that failed to return excessive contributions from Pelosi’s PACs within 60 days, as required by law.

Under conciliation agreements reached with the FEC, Pelosi’s two committees — PAC to the Future and Team Majority — will pay $21,000. Julie Thomas for Congress Campaign Committee (D–IA) and Van Hollen for Congress (D–MD) will each pay $2,500, and Joe Turnham for Congress (D–AL) will pay $2,000. The three campaigns also agreed to disgorge $5,000 each to the U.S. Treasury.

Law Circumvented

In its Complaint, NLPC alleged that Pelosi violated federal election law by operating two “leadership” political action committees (PACs) in order to circumvent contribution limits. Members of the Democrat and Republican leaderships in the House and Senate may legally have one so-called leadership PAC in addition to their own campaign committee. The purpose of leadership PACs is to make contributions to the campaigns of other Congressional candidates.

NLPC’s Complaint cited a second circumvention of the law, that of the limits on amounts donors may give to PACs. Team Majority, the newer PAC, reported sixteen contributions of $5,000 each from donors who also gave the maximum to Pelosi’s other PAC. Five of the donors gave to both PACs on the same day.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 10th Soros Behind the Hit. Just follow the money.

No surprise here, but more proof of how diabolical George Soros is. He is contemptuous of the will of the American people, what counts is what he wants. And he wants America.

Richard Poe of FrontPageMag.com reports on the money trail ;

THREE SEPARATE FORCES are attacking Congressman Tom DeLay. Outwardly,Delay_soros these forces seem independent. On closer inspection, however, we find that all three have something in common. All have significant links to leftwing billionaire, Democrat kingmaker and convicted insider trader George Soros. (1)

Laura Bush, Hitler's Dog? Bill Maher, Osama's Goebbels

If Laura Bush is "Hitler's dog" as Bill Maher suggests, then it is clear that Maher is Joey Buttafucco's Mary Joe, Saddam's Tariq Aziz, Hitler's Goebbels (too much credit).
I never watch his rot, who wants to watch the continuing decay of a man right before yours?Maher_laura_bush How Ann Coulter could be tight with this guy I'll never know.

I turned it on because Iwanted to see Hitchens, who I thought was way too gentlemenly. Elegant, eloquent. He should have wiped the floor with Galloway and Maher as the leftard propaganda was being disgorged  like so much bile.

When Hitchens attested to George W.'s redeeming qualities, he sited the fact that Bush  got Laura Bush to marry him. Which, btw, I thought an extraordinary comment. How lovely, what depth of character.

When Bill Maher responded that Hitler's dog loved him too, it just blew me away.
It blew Hitch away too. He told Maher that the statement was a disgrace and that tomorrow Maher would be sorry he said it.
To which Maher resorted to the Left's usual MO, he alluded to Hitchen's drinking problem.
Knowing what we know about Maher's drug use.........isn't that like the pothead calling the drinker a drug addict. I mean, really.
And I've seen alot of Hitch lately, he's been stone cold sober. If not, he is an incredibly sober drunk (!)

And the audience of cheering brown shirts made me ashamed to be American.

And to those of you that don't understand the War in Iraq aka the War on Jihadism;

Foreign Fighters Now Seen as Main Threat in Iraq - Bradley Graham
The top U.S. military intelligence officer in Iraq, Maj.-Gen. Richard Zahner, said Abu Musab Zarqawi and his foreign and Iraqi associates have essentially commandeered the insurgency, becoming the dominant opposition force and the greatest immediate threat to U.S. objectives in the country. "I think what you really have here is an insurgency that's been hijacked by a terrorist campaign," Zahner said. U.S. military leaders say they now see Zarqawi's group, known as al-Qaeda in Iraq, as having supplanted Iraqis loyal to ousted president Saddam Hussein as the insurgency's driving element. Although numerically still a small fraction of the insurgency, Zarqawi's network is said to be behind a disproportionately large share of the violence.
    Since spring, U.S. commanders have moved beyond targeting the group's leaders and urban cells to try to shut off the flow of foreign Islamic extremists infiltrating from Syria. Zahner said the number of foreign fighters entering Iraq, which had started to approach 200 a month in June, appeared to drop to 100 a month or fewer by the end of August. More than 315 foreign fighters have been killed since March and nearly 330 detained. The average level of daily attacks across Iraq is about 90. (Washington Post)

We are fighting al-Qaeda in Iraq, this is the war on Jihadism. This is the theater.
We didn't start this war but we will finish it, here's the list of Islamic terror attacks since September 11th.

oh and BTW: I have not forgotten Hitchen's background and his anti-Israel, pro-Pali position during his lefty years at the Nation. I honestly believe he bought into the Pali propaganda and has subsequently seen the light. That it was all bullshit and they just want Israel and the free world for that matter, driven into  the sea. Yes, I think he grew intellectually.

Michael Brown Should Not Have Resigned

If you missed today's hearings on the "KKKatrina Investigation", Michael Brown testified. And if I may say so, I found him sharp, logical, and rational. Despite the grandstanding by both the Dhimmicrats and the Republicans (looking to score '06 points I guess), Brown was honest, straight, and YES more than competent. He never should have resigned. I want this guy on my team.
It seems the Mayor and Governor of Louisiana are being given a free pass as "incompetent", and that Brown should have known it and basically usurped their authority.

It was an eye opener for me ............... I strongly recommend you go to CSPAN and watch the stream............the moment I most cherish is when Brown responded to a dhimmicrat , Mississippi Rep. Taylor's query with the following statement of incredulity;

RE: satellites for communication
"We do not have enough of them for an area the size Great Britain"

of MREs and Gasoline
"FEMA is not there to supply gasoline , it is not the role of the Federal government to supply five gallons of gas for every individual to go to somewhere. That is not the role of the Federal government. I personally believe that is a horrible road to go down. And while my heart goes out to people on fixed income, it is a primarily state and local responsibility, in my opinion the responsibility of faith based organizations, churches and charities and others, to help those people. If you want to stand ... sit there and berate me because FEMA did not provide 5 gallons of gas for someone to evacuate on a fixed income I take great offense to that, Congressman.

My biggest mistake was not recognizing by Saturday that Louisiana was dysfuntional.

In other words, he made complete sense. I transcribed this myself, please watch this before you form a final opinion. And what makes Nagina dnBlanco sacred cows? The mainstream media and the fifth column, of course. The Republicans may have won the election, but the tail is wagging the dog.

oh and BTW, Louis Farrakhan is telling his minions that we blew up the levees ;

Nation of Islam chief Minister Louis Farrakhan has expanded on his theory that New Orleans' levees were blown up during Hurricane Katrina, announcing Friday that divers working on the levee break have found evidence of explosives.

"These explosives are from the government side," he said during a press conference in Memphis held to promote his upcoming Million Man Anniversary March.

Media whore Mother of the Year????? Cindy "ME!"Sheehan

"The outcome and consequences of defeat [in Iraq] are greater than World War II."
-- Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

This injured Marine best illustrates my response  to Mother Sheehan: Iraq_injured_marine
(Read the incredible story on this injured Marine here);

Sheehan While media darling and mother of the year Cindy Sheehan, SHAMELESSLY exploits the death of her son for her 13 minutes of fame;

'Angry in the Great White North' has a posting today entitled "Cindy Sheehan: Taken to the woodshed" by the KosKidz.  Apparently, she whined CNN was dwelling on Rita coverage and neglecting her [Sheehan].  Unfortunately for CS, some the the Kidz had relatives in the Rita area, and they took her to task, accusing her of being a mediawhore, etc. This is almost as good as get our troops out of occupied New Orleans...............

From Cindy Sheehan on Daily Kos:

"I am watching cnn and it is 100 percent rita...even though it is a little wind and a little rain...it is bad, but there are other things going on in this country today...and in the world!!!!"

UPDATE: A Media Advisory of Impending Arrests

The idiots at CODEPINK actually announced their intention to get Cindy Sheehan arrested ... yesterday: DC Indymedia: 9/26 Mass Civil Disobedience Action Against the Iraq War. Cindy Sheehan will participate. (Hat tip: Coffee250 via Robin.)

UPDATE  of that "rally" this past weekend in DC fromfrom the Foundation of for the Defense of Democracies;

One of the main sponsors of Sunday's anti-war demonstration in Washington was A.N.S.W.E.R. Predictably, the Washington Post's report failed to tell its readers anything about A.N.S.W.E.R.

For example, might it not be useful for readers to know that A.N.S.W.E.R. opposes not only U.S. support for liberated Iraqis (favoring the terrorists and insurgents), it also opposes U.S. intervention in Afghanistan -- and even in Haiti. It's pro-Castro and pro-Kim Jong Il. Indeed, the group says it opposes "the U.S. Empire."

In a May 12, 2005 "Call to Action" A.N.S.W.E.R. said: "The U.S. is actively attempting to destroy every government that resists the Empire... The war in Iraq is a necessary component in the political program and the institutions of global conquest and exploitation."

A.N.S.W.E.R. asserts that the United States is engaged in a "war for the benefit of U.S. banks, oil monopolies, and transnational corporations" and that the U.S. government "pretend[s] to promote freedom abroad but at the same time fan the flames of racism, anti-immigrant discrimination, sexism, homophobia and bigotry of all forms at home."

And, of course, the group calls Israel "a colonial state" that "launched devastating wars against Egypt, Syria and Jordan."

Ed McNamara photo-blogged from Sunday's "pro-troops counter-protest "  as did lost city.

Judith over at Kesher Talk has great insight here as well.

UPDATE: 5:16 pm, this post won't end because the hypocrisy won't end;

and  Beth (Cotillion sistuh) over at the superior MY Vast Right Wing Conspiracy blog got email from her MGySgt serving over in Iraq at Al Asad; incredibly, he and the others he works with at HQ .Read her  blog ! Among other stuff he talked about, he said:

I think you would be amazed at the morale of the young military people here. I know I am. I’ve been in for over 28 years and I have seen good and bad. These youngsters are getting the job done in a way I would never have imagined. They go on convoys, get shot at or have IEDs go off, then they return still in high spirits. The trick here is to convince the bad guys they have been beat. The idiots at the peace rallies are what’s really hurting since the stated goals of the insurgents is to break down public support for the war in the US. I heard the other day that 52% of the people back home think we are losing. I would be worried if it was 1995 and this was the case, but Bush doesn’t govern via polls like Clinton did. That’s one thing we all appreciate about the president; he sticks to the plan.

and Irwin, my fellow liberal hawk (libeal as in Jeffersonian)  shares this great Hitchens piece with me;

Anti-War, My Foot
The phony peaceniks who protested in Washington.
By Christopher Hitchens

Slate Monday, Sept. 26, 2005

It is really a disgrace that the liberal press refers to such enemies ofl iberalism as "antiwar" when in reality they are straight-out pro-war, but on the other side. Was there a single placard saying, "No to Jihad"? Of course not. Or a single placard saying, "Yes to Kurdish self-determination" or "We support Afghan women's struggle"? Don't make me laugh. And this in a week when Afghans went back to the polls, and when Iraqis were preparing to do so, under a hail of fire from those who blow up mosques and U.N. buildings, behead aid workers and journalists, proclaim fatwahs against the wrong kind of Muslim, and utter hysterical diatribes against Jews and Hindus.

Attention Normal Parents: YOU AND YOUR KIDS ARE THE TARGET OF THE FIFTH COLUMN LEFT

Meanwhile, NORMAL PARENTS  are under seige, being emasculated by the left wing totalitiarian fifth column of thought police;

District takes hard line after arresting concerned father

While the trial of a Massachusetts parent arrested while attempting to secure a promise from school officials to notify parents before teaching aboutDavidparker_2 homosexuality in his son's kindergarten class has been postponed until next month, the school district is taking a hard line against such notification. Paul Ash, the superintendent of schools in Lexington, has announced his instructions to all teachers in the district to give no notice to parents of efforts to teach "diversity" lessons about "alternative lifestyles" – even in primary grades.

In April, David Parker of Lexington spent a night in jail and was charged with criminal trespassing after refusing to leave a scheduled meeting with officials at the Estabrook Elementary School unless they provided parental notice of such lessons and gave him the option of pulling his child out of those classes

Is this incredible? Kindergarteners who barely know they're alive have to be taught about sex/sexual orientation. The father is the criminal.

al-Qaeda Nukes, and the War on Jihadism

Tell me again why we shouldn't be fighting the war in/for Iraq and essentially the fight of  our lives. The joke is when/if Al Qaeda nukes Anyplace America, the lefttards will say "it was Bush's fault  Halliburton wants the contract to rebuild".

Rantburg advises us of the following

Seized Bulgarian nuclear material may be linked to al-Qaeda The potentially lethalNuclear_explosion_atlas_3 nuclear enrichment material that Bulgarian customs prevented from crossing into Romania is linked to Iran's nuclear quest, the Sunday Herald reported, citing Romanian sources

According to the reports an Arab-dominated Bucharest mafia was the intermediary in the hafnium deal.

A week ago Bulgaria's police in the northeastern Danube city Russe nabbed 3.5kg of hafnium, a material that could be used in the manufacture of radioactive "dirty bombs".

Speaking of NUKES; Al Jizz reports

Iran warns of UN referral fallout

 Iran has threatened to resume uranium enrichment and block UN inspections of its nuclear facilities unless the UN nuclear agency reverses its resolution to refer it to the Security Council for possible sanctions.

Ok, let me undertsand this. Iran is warning us that they will resume their diabolical nuclear strategems if the UN refers them to the Security Council for their nuclear diabolical antics.

So what's the diffference? Either way..............they are going nuclear.

and secondly, who out there believes they have stopped?................Believe that and I got some oceanfront property I wanna sell you in NOLA.

UPDATE: and if you don't believe me, maybe you'll listen to the Iranian President himself!

Anyone still foolish enough to believe that Iran would be willing to surrender its nuclear program absent overwhelming international pressure and sanctions should read a speech delivered before the Iranian Majlis by Iran's fundamentalist in chief, President Ahmadinejad. From Iran Press News: (thanks to Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi)

He said: "The Islamic regime will in no way, shape or form give up it's rights [to nuclear power]. The days of bullying, browbeating and power mongering is over. We can hear the cracking of the bones of these straw giants [under our feet] and we're shocked that these [westerners] are not able to face facts." He claimed: "Two years ago, all of a sudden, the regime's nuclear activities became the focus of the IAEA's investigation, based on false accusations, rhetoric and a huge amount of pressure and negative publicity that was mounted against us."

He added, commenting on the EU3's stance: "The 3 European countries who are being manipulated from behind the scenes by their allies, are racists and are looking to take the world back to the dark ages. They themselves are nuked up to the teeth and are piling security threats against those whose own security is in danger."

KKKatrina & Kennedy: Aquatic Expertise Nonparallel

Shocked by the widespread suffering of those displaced from their homes by the flooding in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, Senator Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) volunteered to  plug one of the holes in the Lake Pontchartrain levee.

The Bush Administration has failed to stem the tide of this cataclysm," said Kennedy. "I have had some experience with aquatic mishaps. This experience will bolster me in this hour of desperation as I plug one of the leaks myself.President Bush praised Senator Kennedy's decision. "I think it's mighty big of him to offer so much for the good of the country," said Bush. "There aren't many who could fill such a large role in this disaster."

Below is a pic of the senator being taken to the levee...

Oh My G-d! Did they really say that?

From the Guardian

Compassion is putting yourself in the other person's shoes and feeling sympathy. It does not require affection. One might feel compassion for Hitler, Stalin or Saddam on learning about their appalling childhoods (like most famous dictators, they lost a parent before the age of 14), or even for George Bush (who had a beastly time), but still hate them for what they did.

I really need to move to a new planet.............no, no, seriously

Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal has purchased 5.46 percent of the Fox corporation, according to Gulf Daily News, raising concern that the conservative Fox News may soften its anti-terror stance due to the views of the new shareholder.

Injured Marine defies Attackers

Can someone out there tell me why this guy is not front and center in the New York Times or CBS or ABC news. Can someone tell me why this guy is not on the cover of Time or Newsweak?

Iraq_injuredRAMADI, Iraq - Once Marine Gunnery Sgt. Michael Burghardt realized he could wiggle his toes and fingers, he had one message for the insurgents who wounded him - defiance.

Marine Gunnery Sgt. Michael Burghardt signals defiance at his Iraqi attackers after being injured by an improvised explosive device near Ramadi. Attending to the Marine were Nebraska 167th Cavalry members Spc. John Adams (far left, in front) of Hastings, Neb., and Pfc. Darin Nelson of Fremont, Neb.

Burghardt, of Huntington Beach, Calif., started his third tour in Iraq trying to beat the insurgents to the IEDs - improvised explosive devices - and disarm them before the insurgents could set them off.

As is often the case, Burghardt and his Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were accompanied to a bomb site Monday by the First Platoon, 167th Cavalry of the Nebraska National Guard.

One IED had blown up a Bradley fighting vehicle and killed a U.S. soldier. As often happens, the insurgents left behind more IEDs. Burghardt disarmed two bombs that were found - quick action that probably saved the lives of several Nebraska soldiers.

But he couldn't get to a third.

When word spread that the third device had been found, 167th Capt. Jeff Searcey of Kearney, 1st Lt. Matthew Misfeldt of Omaha and their men hit the ground as a blast exploded skyward.

Burghardt was wounded.

But with two new young Marines in his ordnance disposal unit - and the insurgent attackers undoubtedly looking on - "I didn't want them to see the team leader carried away on a stretcher," he said.

So after the Nebraskans tended to wounds that reached from his boot tops to the small of his back, Burghardt rose to his feet and reached back with a one-finger salute for his attackers.

"I was angry," Burghardt said.

IEDs - which can be roadside bombs, car bombs or other booby traps - increasingly are the weapons of choice for the Iraqi insurgents.

Unwilling or unable to attack U.S. forces head-on, the insurgency has used the hidden explosives, often detonated by remote control. Some analysts have estimated that nearly 12,000 IED incidents occurred in Iraq in 2004.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal units are assigned to locate, identify, disarm and dispose of IEDs. The Nebraskans alongside Burghardt's unit provide security at the scene, guarding the perimeter while the EOD teams do their dangerous work.

The 1st Platoon has been on 80 such missions, including some false alarms, since the 167th Cavalry arrived in Ramadi about 90 days ago.

Working together, the ordnance disposal Marines and the Nebraska National Guardsmen have developed a mutual respect - there's no Army-Marine trash-talking here.

"The biggest threat to us in Iraq is IEDs. We love working with them. They make us better soldiers," Misfeldt said.

Burghardt, an 18-year Marine with 15 years' experience disarming explosives, returns that admiration.

"I feel part of this Army team," he said. "They take care of us like brothers."

Burghardt received the Bronze Star during his last tour of duty for disarming 64 IEDs. This week's incident was his first injury.

Burghardt, 35, wouldn't accept painkillers when he was brought back to camp by the Nebraskans. He knew he might need them later. And he's not looking to leave Ramadi for five more months.

"I don't want a ticket out," he said. "I want to stay here so we can take as many people home as possible."

Soldiers all the way up to the brigade's commander, Col. John Gronski, viewed a photo of Burghardt - on his feet, arm extended and middle finger raised - as the embodiment of the American warrior.

As for Burghardt, he said he wanted to send a message to the insurgents who failed to kill him.

"I knew there was somebody disappointed out there."

Hamas Launches Strikes Against Israel..........Fisking the Mainstream Media

Before reading the folllowing fisk, please  Download israeli-children.pps this file and view, for a moment of reflection and pain before continuing on. This was sent to me from the HR mission at Honest Reporting.

Yup, Hamas is attacking Israel, this after the Palestinian rockets hit Israel. Nothing new I know. Noteworthy is how the Mainstream Media is twisting the story - Israel as the aggressor. I fisk in lilac italics;
