Clash of Civilizations: Women under the boot of Radical Islam

It is my deeply held belief that "THE REAL FAULT LINE THAT DIVIDES THE WEST AND THE MUSLIM WORLD IS ATTITUDES TOWARD WOMEN.

And so in my continuing series, here is another harrowing week for woman living under shariah, islamic law;

  • Iran Focus reported that the IRI's prosecutor’s offices announced womenRoya12_2_2 who violate Iran’s strict Islamic dress code will be flogged immediately, usually 100 lashes in public.
  • KurdishMedia News called for the release of Ms. Roya Tolouie, an activist in the women’s movement, and a member of the Association for the Defence of Women in Kurdistan She was arrested following a peaceful sit-in to demand the release of prisoners.
  • Hey Greta,  Dr Roya Toloui , the famous Kurdish feminist, is missing...  Taken away by the Iranian Mullahs.  Why don't you go look for her?  She is probably still alive.
  • She can be saved if the MSM would just pay attention. Or the FEMINAZIS!

In hiding, another Pakistani rape victim seeks justice
Her ordeal at the hands of five rapists was harrowing enough, she says. But the medieval-style tribal justice system that lives on in parts of Pakistan made what happened next even worse.

The problem of honor killings? is not a problem of morality or of ensuring that women maintain their own personal virtue; rather, it is a problem of domination,Honor_killings_zahida_4 power and hatred of women who, in these instances, are viewed as nothing more than servants to the family, both physically and symbolically.

"He came home from the mosque and accused me of having a bad character," the tiny, 32-year-old woman murmured through her veil as she awaited a recent court hearing in the case. "I told him it was not true, but he didn't believe me. He caught me and tied me up, and then he started cutting my face. He never said a word except, This is your last night.'"

Deadly pharmaceuticals sold in Tehran

Dr. Akbari, the Director of the Center for Information said that the pharmaceutical drug dealers in the Nasser-Khosrow section of Tehran are distributors of spoiled abortion/miscarriage pills. The pills are mainly imported from India and need to be refrigerated in temperatures between 2 to 5 degrees centigrade. Dr. Akbari added that the pharmaceutics contrabandists who hide their goods in phone booths or in locked cases on the backs of motorcycles ask the buyer to wait; they pretend to go to a nearby refrigerator to get them. The pills however, stored and sold under these conditions have lead to haemorrhaging, cervical and uterus infections, sterilization and sometimes death.

The standard abortion pills are only issued for distribution through one main source which is the 13 Aban Pharmacy in Tehran; however, in order to fill the prescription, an authorization from the Medical Examiners' office and a letter from an obstetrician-gynaecologist is required.

At present obtaining the courts' permission, which is always a complicated and exasperating task, makes the waiting period entirely too long and forces people to resort to buying the pill from the street dealers. It is either that or having an unwanted child that creates more rearing and financial hardship under the Islamic regime.

Fining women for improper veiling

Chador6dec185_jpg_2Iran Daily, one of the regime's newspapers reported of a proposal by Shahriar Rashidi, a member of the Commission on Education and Research of the Mullahs' Parliament who suggested: "In order to control women's attire, we must fine women who are charged with improper veiling. Any woman who does not properly cover herself must pay a cash fine so that they learn to obey the rules and customs."

Rashidi also said: "Women who are improperly dressed in public and people who behave badly while in their automobiles, harm public decency and will be severely fined by Motor Vehicle agents."

Disciplinary forces harass high school girls

Iran Daily, one of the regime's multitude of media outlets, in it's Tuesday issue confessed that the greater corruption and criminality of the regime in fact emanates from none other than the disciplinary forces of the regime themselves; a large number of the disciplinary forces' agents have been recognized and exposed for ganging up and swarming around girls' schools during schools opening and closing hours.

This newspaper, in an article entitled "Our Neighborhoods' police," quotes a resident of Tehran who describes: "On Shaheed Lavasani Street, right next to the Metro entrance, there is a girls' high school. We have witnessed that during the opening and closing hours of the school, large groups of young, libidinous and salacious criminals who are in fact known to be members of the disciplinary forces and are meant to be supposedly protecting the neighborhood, gather; they harass, disgrace and insult the high school girls who just want to be left in peace...God forbid that this is supposed to be the so-called 'hard-working' police of this Islamic nation."

Khamnei's newspaper berates and persecutes Iranian women and girls

The regime's ruling newspaper, belonging to Mullah Khamnei, blamed Iranian women and girls, in an article entitled "The main reason for social corruption and ills," and called upon the disciplinary forces to exert all the necessary force in confronting such blight.

This newspaper wrote: "Families are not only troubled by hoodlums and misfits. The actions of these hoodlums and misfits are as a result of other people's influences upon which the commander of the disciplinary forces did not expound. The main problem of our society today stems from sloppy women and girls whose veiling problems are a constant concern and of course there's the prostitutes who are the source of trouble on the streets. Those hoodlums and misfits who harass women and girls would never think of bothering proper and sophisticated women who are veiled according to the Islamic rules and maintain decent and respectable standards. Women who are not properly veiled and dress in a common and garish way are looking to be harassed and attacked. Therefore these women and girls are the real reason for the actions of these hoodlums to begin with."

It's too politically incorrect to ever happen, but there has to be some extremely weird psychology behind all of this and I'd love to have some psychologists comment on it. Of course, it could just come down to institutionalized psychopathology. There has to be some strange sexual crap here too, though. Again, it seems like a pathological hatred for one's own sexuality, and an overwhelming fear of other men's sexuality, that results in misogyny (as projection). To be blunt, these guys must fear there is something wrong with THEM when they get a hard-on, and they blame the women. Suggestion... cut off your own prick and leave the ladies alone! (sorry for the language). There's also got to be something in there about a fear of inadequacy that might be exposed if you let women fully flourish (what in Allah's name will they do when some women turn out to be smarter, and more competent than them?).

I won't even touch the philosophical/spiritual aspects of the lost opportunity of truly loving and opening your heart and mind to someone of the opposite sex. Self-protection (always the result of fearing that you're weak and vulnerable) will inevitably turn into attack.

Pamela, you are so right on this. The place of a woman in a free society is her choice and her's alone. However, should she choose to be a mother, then she must commit and be responsible for her offspring until they reach adulthood. It's the duty without contract. Equally, a man should be father to his offspring and support their mother as she supports their children. Marriage and divorce have defined contractual responsibilities that we can generally live with. But slavery takes all the love and all the hope out of the family and distorts the outlook of the children forever. A life lived in those conditions is not worth living. But then, I can only view from the heights of freedom.

Ayn Rand at 100: "Yours is the Glory"

  • Aynrandstamp_1

  • Speaking to the unnamed, unchampioned, beating heart of her new land, Ayn was to say: 'Yours is the glory.'"
A man whose ability and independence leads others to reject him, but who perseveres nevertheless to achieve his values. Man as an individual, as a creator. What's the most depraved type of human being? Not a sadist or a murderer or a sex maniac or a dictator; "The man without a purpose." Yet most people seem to go through their lives without a clearly defined purpose.

  • Life has Loveliness to sell,
    All beautiful and splendid things,
Blue waves whitened on a cliff,
Soaring fires that sways and swing,
    And children's faces looking up,
    Holding wonder like a cup

    Life has Loveliness to sell,
Music like a curve of Gold,
Scent of pinetrees in the rain,
Eyes that love you, arms that hold,
And for your spirit's still delight,
Holy stars that star the night.

Spend all you have for loveliness,
    Buy it and never count the cost;
For one white singing hour of Peace
Count many a year of strife well lost
And for a breath of ecstasy
Give all you have been, or could be.
