Whicj New York Senator is more disgusting, more dangerous, more seditious? It's neck in neck, dog eat dog, left eat right
As usual, New York Senator Chuck Schumer was in front of TV cameras last week in his role as "outrage generator" over Karl Rove's role in helping to reveal the name of CIA employee Valerie Plame. Appearing at a news conference with Joe Wilson, Ms. Plame's husband, Mr. Schumer called for Mr. Rove's security clearance to be lifted as part of a legislative effort he will lead to strip security clearances from all leakers.
But Mr. Schumer used to have an entirely different position on leaks -- including leaks he was involved with. Five years ago, he fought against a GOP-backed bill later vetoed by President Clinton that would have made every leak of classified information a crime. That law would certainly have been inconvenient for three of his Democratic colleagues last year when they revealed the existence of a top-secret $9.5 billion stealth spy satellite program. Senators Dick Durbin, Jay Rockefeller and Ron Wyden justified their blowing the cover off of the program because they believed it was a wasteful use of taxpayer's money.
