WTF? So this is what the Republicans got for caving to the minority moonbats the other day? The LA Times does their requisite lefty nonsense on this story but even they are scraping the bottom of the barrel to thwart Bolton and still there is nothing on this decent, smart, hardworking, honorable man.
This "killing time" tactic eats away at the three plus years Bush has left and it is very nuch a tactic. They squander as much time as possible until they sic thier rabid attack dogs on us pre-election time. What is happening here? The clock is ticking!

Thursday's delay resulted from a failed Republican effort to cut off debate, a move that required the support of three-fifths of the Senate. The 56-42 vote fell short of the 60 votes the Republican majority needed to end debate and hold a confirmation vote.
Despite the holdup, Republicans vowed to bring the nomination up again after the Memorial Day recess, and predicted they would muster the votes to confirm Bolton.
The first casualty of Thursday's vote, however, may have been the spirit of compromise achieved Monday when a group of 14 moderate and maverick Democratic and Republican senators signed an agreement on judicial nominees.
In that compromise — which pulled the Senate back from what could have become a paralyzing partisan confrontation — seven Democrats promised to filibuster judicial nominees only in "extraordinary circumstances" in return for Republicans promising not to vote to change the filibuster rules that allow the minority party to hold up nominations.
"Well, John Bolton is in extraordinary-circumstance purgatory right now," said an angry Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.), when asked whether the Democrats' actions Thursday undermined the spirit of the agreement.
We needed Bolton in there 4 months ago, kicking ass and taking names. This is the compromise those wussies made? Now everyone is is extraordinary? What in G-d's name were the Republican Senators thinking? That they could trust the demmies? Based on what?
Every tactic the hard left party has engaged in, in the past 10 years has been suspect, mendacious and disingenous.

THE BORKING OF BOLTON II
To believe this, one would have to think that there is some chance that Messrs. Dodd or Biden, or for that matter any of the Democrats that voted to delay the vote, could see new information that would change their minds about Mr. Bolton. Most of the Democrats opposed to this nomination have been opposed from the beginning. At first, they opposed Mr. Bolton because he had mean things to say about the United Nations. Then they claimed he was abusive. Then they said that he sought to politicize intelligence.
In part, this judgment is based on the testimony of Lawrence Wilkerson, the chief of staff to Secretary of State Powell. But was it not Mr. Powell along with the director of central intelligence, George Tenet, who delivered the allegedly politicized intelligence in 2003 to the United Nations Security Council? Mr. Wilkerson confirmed even in his interview with the committee that the intelligence used in that presentation came from the very institution whose analysts Mr. Bolton challenged.
So what gives? It's hard to see the latest stunt from the Democrats on the committee as anything more than another delay tactic being used for reasons that can only be called partisan in the worst, cheapest sense of the word. For a group that claims to care about multilateralism and the United Nations, they are doing their best to keep America without representation there in the midst of a desperate war.
This makes me nuts.
