Soros/MoveOn.Org Latest Target: Santorum
You had to know that George Soros and his bagman moveon.org would seek revenge for the Daschle loss. And what race do you think he/they would target?.............. one of the Republican party's best men, of course! Senator Rick Santorum. They are dropping dumpsters of cash (limitless) and barraging the marketplace with their mendacious message.
I met this guy and let me tell you he is a winner. Avoice of reason, clear, unambiguous and on the side of America. Don't know who is out there that can be helpful but this is one race we must win (and he is behind 10 points - oy). There is more on the assault on Santorum form the Deaniacs at GrassRootsPa.com as well as a great site dedicated to just this one issue, Santorumaniacs (ha!).
Here's a good take of the race from Renew America:
Consider the Pennsylvania Senate race as an example. Senator Rick Santorum
(R-PA) is the most conservative Republican to have served in the U.S. Senate
from that State since the 1920s. He was narrowly elected in a three-way race in
1994 and was convincingly re-elected in 2000 by over 200,000 votes. He is
running for re-election in 2006 — against an empty suit. Senator Santorum has
been the one person in leadership willing to take courageous stands. At times he
is controversial, but whether you agree or disagree with Rick Santorum, you know
he believes what he says and is a man of integrity. Senator Santorum likes to
legislate. He has been involved in negotiation about the so-called
"constitutional option" to return the Senate rules to their traditional norm and
guarantee that Federal Circuit and Supreme Court nominees are not
filibustered.
He has been a major proponent of the Marriage Amendment, a
constitutional amendment which says that marriage is between one man and one
woman. He would love to spend every moment on such issues or on more parochial
issues, such as Amtrak. Instead he must garner resources necessary for what
could be the most expensive 2006 Senate race in the nation. Democrats see this
as a prime opportunity. In his first term the President went to Pennsylvania
more times than he went anywhere else. He had a good ground organization.
Enthusiasm for the President was high.
Despite unprecedented money spent
by Republicans in Pennsylvania in 2004, Bush lost the State by at least 150,000
votes. Against that backdrop the Democrats recruited State Auditor Bob Casey,
Jr., son of the late revered two-term Governor Bob Casey, best remembered for
being denied a speaking slot at the 1992 Democratic Convention because he was
pro-life. Bob Casey, Jr. was to have a primary opponent, mainly over the
pro-life issue, but Democratic Governor Edward G. Rendell paved the way for
Casey to have a clear shot at the Democratic nomination.
Millions of
dollars likely will be spent on this Senate campaign. The campaign already is
underway. Santorum does not like that even though he is an excellent campaigner.
He has no choice because he has been targeted by Democrats, organized Labor and
every liberal interest group in the country. Casey, meanwhile, is doing and
saying little. Even the left-leaning PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER has been
critical of Casey because he refused to reveal his plans for Amtrak, which
currently is one of the hottest local issues in Eastern Pennsylvania. Casey also
has said nothing about the pro-life issue and pledged that he would say nothing.
He wants to run in the shadow of his late father so voters could presume he is
solid on the issue without having to commit himself.
Me, I really like Santorum (how many people can you say that about?) and I like him for 2008 (along with Condi) but he must win this one first. He stands for everything I believe in. Don't slack off now that Bush is in..........evil never sleeps

OMG! He is Hot! Sorry but he is my FAV.

Bill,
What can we do? Let's put something together at the grass roots level. If people knew what was actually happening and how diabolical Soros' tactical strategy really was, they would sober up.

Good post here. I have taken the same pledge myself.

At a conspiracy, er, a gathering of Free Republic, Town Hall, and LGF Meetups last night I met Peter Bearse, a true rennaissance guy btw-
"...He has lived to see the politics of Lincoln’s trilogy—of, by and for people—diminish, and the grassroots dry up. He aims to empower people to take “their” political system back from the pro’s so that political equality becomes real rather than a fond hope or illusion. His life’s goal has been and will continue to be, “until death do us part,” to do whatever he can in concert with others to help rebuild the American political community from the ground up. ..."
-who wrote this book (review requires subscription) We, The People, A Conservative Populism, Alpha Publishing, Inc., ISBN 0-99717585-9-X.
Of which Alan Everett, former Mayor of Sedona, Arizona said, "The absolute best 'how-to' book for grassroots political action. It demonstrates that you can make a difference."

Can anyone tell me when Ricky will stop supporting leftist economic programs like SS, the minimum wage, and his newest abomination -- the forced savings plan?
His support of baby killing, gun grabbing Arlen was just the tip of the iceberg. He either has never been a conservative, has lost his way (or mind), or he is simply another pol who will say and do whatever it takes to secure his reelection. None of them convince me that I should ever vote for him again. Why would you?

I would LAVISH money on the children ALWAYS, and give not a dime to the seniors. They have had a lifetime to work, plan, and save. The children are our future, no one gives a rat's ass because they don't vote. The seniors, OTOH, are the richest voting block in America. You are hating Santorum because he is attempting to privatize the Nanny state of welfare uh I mean social security? The LLL will allow no movement on this issue.
I thoroughly agree............in a perfect world.
In a perfect world the only tax we would be for DEFENSE thats it, EVERYTHING WOULD BE PRIVATIZED.
But we live in an imperfect world where any change is a Sisyphean task. We can circle jerk all day but the fact is even the smallest change is like moving a mountain.
So stop drinking the bong water and deal with the facts on the ground. We must start somewhere. And yeah I admire his cujones, something we are in short supply of on Capital Hill.

Bill-i was actually trying to make the point that he usually does not photograph well-usually he has an unhealthy Peesburgh pallor take that from an East Pittsburgh gal-
And as a Croatian Catholic-sorry- You want to get him in the Senate again you are going to have to lean a little bit more towards compassion...

I would argue that you are a nut. Santorum is the craziest, most out of the mainstream person in America and Pennsylvania voters are not going to be fooled. He is not a moderate and the furthest thing from compassionate. He is a right-wing, radical loon, religious fanatic who will be unemployed soon.
Go Casey!

Hi There.
How can someone who identifies with Ayn Rand's philosophy so much support the kind of social controls Santorum represents?
