Yes yes I can happily admit I was wrong. Great Great Great! This conference is all that and a bag of chips.
The day kicked off at the conference center to see Condi Rice. Sat next to Iranian chap, Shayan, who gave me an earful of events on the ground in Iran.
He had an interesting take on the mullahs hunger for nuclear bombs. He described an Iranian population of 70-75% under 35 years of age. A young population dying to be free. Demonstration daily across the country risking their lives to speak out.
The mullahs want nukes to guarantee their "free hand internally, much like North Korea". Shayan insists the the US must assist the revolutionary forces now, time if of the essence (Richard Perle said much the same thing later in the afternoon). Shayan's disdain for Jimmy Carter's were as visceral as mine are . He said that "Carter practically forced the Shah out [leading to all of our current problems] after 30 years of close US ties. And it was never easy to be pro America, it was a much easier path to be Anti-American in the Middle East but the Shah was a stalwart supporter (and look how we thanked him). Shayan still has family there. Visit Shayan's site The Constitutionalists Party of Iran. There are chapters of this wonderful organization all over the world (one just oped in Israel!)
There were a number of speakers before Condi but Professor Ruth Gaviosn, Professor of Law, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem was the most moving, inspirational, insightful. I could have listened to her all day............."Points Don't Stay Proven, Battles Don't Stay Won". It is magic to hear an articulate knowledgeable person speak clearly and concisely to the basic right of Israel to live.
Condi spoke. She is the word. She "gets" it and when she asks why are the ONLY democracies in the Middle East are taking place in occupied countries [IE Israel, Iraq]? ---it gives great pause. The thing I found most reassuring was that she is not wavering. When she says Israel has no greater friend that the US and that the Palis must disarm the terrorist before we can go forward, I exhale.
Next up as I was departing for a breather, Philippe Karsenty grabbed my ear. Karsenty is the President of Premier Agence de Notation des Medias (Media-Ratings_. A French Jew --Hooha!.) Mr. Karsenty was responsible for exposing the hoax of the Al Dura. The depth and breadth of the scandal of Al Dura is frightening. He gave me all the paperwork and then ran upstairs to get the DVD to actually show me how the whole shooting of the the Pali father and the son by the Israeli soldiers were staged and manufactured. It was sickening. Maybe someone will be able to instruct me as to how throw this DVD online once I get back to New York. YOU MUST SEE THIS TO UNDERSTAND HOW FAR THE ENEMY WILL GO TO ADVANCE THEIR JEW HATING AGENDA. It is beyond.
Mr Karsenty's story needs to be told...............on the front pages of world newspapers. But no one in the Mainstream media or the alphabets will report real news anymore.
From there Karsenty grabbed me and took me over to see a discussion between Richard Perle (who I met and chatted with about - you guessed it- the blogosphere), Dan Senor,...............oops I am late for Sharansky book signing!
Check back later
