Harvey, that crazy sumnabitch over at Bad Example.....has hit me up with a book meme, tagged me! Doesn't he know I am trying to save the free world and time is a wastin? Ah well........just for the fun of it then, Book Meme blogger, here we go.
1. Total Number of Books I’ve Owned:
Somewhere in the googles, I imagine. Actually have a gi-normous library. Now if I would only read the damn things.............do 3rd grade textbooks count?
2. Last Book I Bought: oy...........I buy in groups so technically there is no "one" - alright I'll shut up now. Here is my last book order (hot off Amazon's order history)
Churchill:
A Life
Collected
Poems
Letters
to Auntie Fori : The 5,000-Year History of the Jewish People and Their
Faith
The
Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson
The
Prince
3. Last Book I Read:
The Diaries of Adam and Eve", Mark Twain............WTF, crazysexycool
4. Five Books That Mean a Lot to Me:
"Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand. It utterly defines me. The first book I read that perfectly articulated my epistemology: Main Entry: epis·te·mol·o·gy
Pronunciation: i-"pis-t&-'mä-l&-jE
Function: noun
Etymology: Greek epistEmE knowledge, from epistanai to understand, know, from epi- + histanai to cause to stand —more at STAND
Date: circa 1856
: the study or a theory of the nature and grounds of knowledge especially with reference to its limits and validity
- epis·te·mo·log·i·cal /-m&-'lä-ji-k&l/ adjective
Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis Bat Ye'or
Vile France...........sweeping historical changes happen almost imperceptibly .........this brilliant tomb meticulously details Europe's descent into dhimmitude, not to mention exceptional Jewhatred.
"Damaged people are dangerous. They know they can survive."
An incredibly sick, passionate, obsessive, tragic love story - my favorite kind!
The Elegant Universe: Superstrings, Hidden Dimensions, and the
Quest for the Ultimate Theory Brian Green
There is an ill-concealed skeleton in the closet of physics: "As they are currently formulated, general relativity and quantum mechanics cannot both be right." Each is exceedingly accurate in its field: general relativity explains the behavior of the universe at large scales, while quantum mechanics describes the behavior of subatomic particles.
This conundrum made my brain hurt and we really love that. Can you dig it?
The Human Stain, Phillip Roth
A great Phillip Roth Novel, delicious shocking wildly revealing
5. Tag five three people and have them do this on their blog (thank G-d Harvey changed this to three people, Icould barely scrounge that up)
Tom of Hamster Motor, because he is scary brilliant.....and everything he ever gave me to read whacked me upside me head
The Beak over at Beakerton because, well, because I want to know
And I am adding Rancher over at Llano Estacado, because his brain is overflowing with frothy stuff
RG (love your poetry) and Elvis (for always coming to my defense - so cute are you)..............if you delicious guys had blogs, I'd be book memeing you too!
